Oxford

____________________________________________________________

We began the next day of our Labor Day trip at Oxford. After we fought traffic to reach a car park right near the city center, we had a short walk to the colleges. There was an obnoxious carnival set up on the outskirts of the colleges, which was very out of place in front of the Oxford architecture. We first saw Radcliffe Camera (which is actually a building). Next we climbed the tower of St Mary the Virgin Church. The sky was clear, so we had great views over the city, especially All Souls' College.

After that we wandered over to Christ Church College, and paid to see the inside. That was good because it ended up being the only college we saw the inside of.
Justin had bought a guide to C S Lewis sites in Britain, but he left it at home. The only place he remembered was Magdalen College. So after Christ Church, he quickly walked to Magdalen while Malachi and Erin walked around on the grounds surrounding Christ Church. Magdalen didn't open until noon, and we were running out of time, so Justin just got some pictures of the outside.

After lunch at Pizza Hut, we headed over to the Cotswolds, Chipping Campden specifically.
