Your character has eight primary statistics that represent the base model of who s/he is physically and mentally, affecting virtually all skills and other stats the character uses. They are Health (HEA), Agility (AGI), Speed (SPD), Strength (STR), Intelligence (INT), Charisma (CHA), Perception (PER), and Chaos (XAO). Each stat's numerical value will range from 1 to 9 (barring outside influences or special cases), 1 being the weakest and 9 being the strongest.
Health (HEA) - This represents the characters general well-being, ability to resist physical damage/illness/poison/etc., overall metabolism, and so on. Low Health may mean that the char becomes sick easily, or is a bleeder, or has some debilitating malady, while a high Health score enables them to bear the slings and arrows (and laser shots) that life slings their way with little to no trouble. Healthy chars will heal faster after taking damage than unhealthy ones.
Agility (AGI) - A character's fluidity of motion, grace, balance, coordination, and reflexes. Highly Agile characters are light on their feet, flexible, and dextrous. Those with low agility are often clumsy, accident prone, and slow to react to sudden physical dangers. Most characters with a high Agility score are ambidextrous, able to write and manipulate tools and other items with both hands equally well.
Speed (SPD) - Speed determines your character's ability to achieve rapid movement. The higher the score, the faster they can move, whether it be walking, running, flying, or swatting at biting insects.
Strength (STR) - This indicates a character's physical power, the brute ability to make things move that don't want to move, pick up heavy things, and knock other people down in such a way that they'll stay down. Strong chars are able to lift heavy loads, throw hefty objects long distances, and make nice size holes in defenseless walls with their fists. Weak chars can generally barely lift themselves, let alone anything else, and often throw like sissy girly-men.
Intelligence (INT) - Knowledge and the ability to think logically. Intelligence doesn't just cover what the character knows, but their ability to recall and apply it in relevant situations as well. The majority of a character's skill will be linked with this stat in one way or another.
Charisma (CHA) - A slightly more tricky stat than the rest, Charisma can represent physical beauty, personal magnetism, or a combination of both. Generally, whichever aspect of the person dominates is the one this stat is indicative of. For example, a character with a Charisma of 1 might be the most beautiful person in the world, but their severely anti-social attitude and tendency to attack all who come near them is what keeps the score low. On the other end of the scale, someone with a Charisma of 9 might be as ugly as sin, but their charming manner and the way they handle themselves shines through all that.
Perception (PER) - The ability to see long distances, general awareness of one's surroundings, and perhaps even a touch of insight that comes from more metaphysical sources. Highly Perceptive people tend to see danger coming, can tell when others are lying to them, and can distinguish camoflauge from the true background. Those with poor Perception are often snuck up on, fall prey to the most amateurish of con men, and wouldn't see a huge pile of money if it were sitting right in front of them.
Chaos (XAO) - Whether consciously or subconsciously, everyone can tap into the Chaotic forces that flow and ebb through the fabric of reality. Those aware of this constant interplay of Order and Chaos often become magicians, using the flow to create magnificent spells. Some are born with mutations in their genetic code due to the Chaos running through the space-time; mutations that give them amaging natural abilities far beyond that of their brethren. Even normal people manage to tap into the power of Chaos from time to time, often attributing the coincidences and happenstances around them to pure luck. This stat represents the character's connection to those forces and power.
