  • Strategy Guide
    (by sheikhmaster_reborn)

You can start the game with all weapons for what it is worth - nothing...

    Choosing Skills!
My opinion - I like to start with all four Ice skills and the top three Life skills active. Then put a single point in *all* other skills *except* Resurrection. Bring the Life base skill to 10 so potions are their strongest and spread the rest evenly in the Shock, Fire and Spectral skill areas.

    Choosing Weapons & Armor!
Weapons and armor until the defense 10 or damage 10 issue... The choice of either weapon or armor matters not. The effects are the same until the level 10 items can be obtained. The Wands / Staffs from level 10 up will each provide a certain benefit. The healing wands will save you potions by providing healing events.

Note: Always use Hunting method of movement. Sneak only if you find yourself in trouble.

    Important Stuff!

  • Xantan is level 10 and can be defeated if you have a full load of potions and are level 10 at least.
  • Kreai is level 15.
  • Gors is lvl 20 and *TOUGH*. Rollay is lvl 25.
  • Archmagus of Roo is level 31.
  • The Guardians of Magic are level 40.
  • Faellein is level 45.

  • The piece of glass and stretch of rotted cloth are held by the "Skeletal Guardians" in Xantan's Lair (Dank Cave level 4 - end...)

  • It is best to be a level or two above any boss you are going to battle and have a good load of potions.

  • If you get stunned while battling, you can use cast skills and healing potions while stunned *IF* you have the move book marked or have the URL saved to a text file.

  • All wands/staffs of any given level increase your attacks the same amount. Each wand at or above damage 10 gives an additional special ability. The healing ability wands/staffs are of the most importance due to the potion saving and healing potential.

  • In Insane, it takes double experience for each level of advancement and there are three bosses in immediate succession at the end - Jahbal, Mastermind and Xantan Reborn. If you get killed in Insane! at any point in the game you have to re-start the Insane! game from the beginning.

  • Basically in Evil, items and potions are harder to come by and at the end of the game instead of just a battle against Jahbal, you are immediately tossed in to battle with Mastermind after defeating Jahbal. And the game has a glitch where if you are killed by Mastermind you will have to start the Evil! level game completely over.

*Original post by Feniques* - I beat Insane level today. Whooo! (Also got 5th fastest time in Neopia so far, go me.) Point being, I thought you all might like to know what I've observed about the big baddies that jump out at the end...
Jahbal, as most people know, has 1000 HP, Hits for around 50 HP, can freeze for three rounds, steal 90 HP and heal himself, and he can also poison you for three rounds...each round stealing 50 poison damage HP. That one stinks. Ironically, he was the most difficult for me.
Mastermind has an identical strength of 1000, hits for 45 HP at a time, and there's this bizarre "Mastermind begins to drain life." Next turn: "Mastermind drains 43 life". I suspect it's similar to the Glacier strike in that it's a buildup of life-sucking, but I didn't let it go on long enough to find out. He can also cast Ice damage for 150 HP at time, so watch out for that. Interestingly, he seems pretty vulnerable to "reflex", since he hit himself more than he hit me. But maybe that was just a fluke.

  • Xantan Reborn is comparatively easy. He's got 1000 HP as well, but doesn't seem to freeze, doesn't seem to poison, and only seems to hit 50 HP when he connects. He's pretty easy to beat.
