318. International Event 2003

Friday, June, 20th, 2003

Early in the morning we had to check out to use the buses for the transfer to the Mystery Park where the “normal” International Event started. We met here also the Swiss members and new foreign club-people.

Everyone received a new T-Shirt, a lanyard and a bag for soft drink-tins. Not only the entrance to the Mystery Park was included in our booked package, but we also received a lunch-voucher.

In the new “exterritorial” Swatch Store which is inside the park we got a sheet of paper with some questions to answer related to the featured themes like the Maya, the old Egypt and other high cultures of the past. All these themes are presented in separate pavilions / buildings which are built around one Centrum. Get your own opinion about this new concept. I enjoyed it very much and now I’m curious what will happen December 23rd, 2012 when the Maya calendar will end. But… as far as I remember – in the show they told us another date as mentioned on the parks’ website?! We did not saw all the attractions. We had to leave early for dinner in a ***** star Hotel in Interlaken.

What should I write about this dinner? I don’t think the Hotel expected a “rude” group (you see “in inverted comma”, a better word I don’t find to explain, but it is not really what I mean) as Swatch Club Members are always. Were we displaced? Here you’ll get the menu-card from the Lindner Grand Hotel Beau Rivage. “Not just better. But different.” Is there motto. We found the famous hair in the noodles. – This is different!

After dinner the lucky winners of the Mystery Park contest got their prices. See here a picture from this scene and see the people here waiting if they are the lucky ones.

More than one hour bus-driving we had to survive (it was no NEOPLAN!), then we arrived in the suburbs of Gstaad. In Gstaad we were splinted in 3 Hotels. In the Steigenberger we were only 8 Germans and 2 Italian members.

This evening I went direct to bed, others celebrated at the bar.

We had to be fit for Saturday.
