Thanks to a new
Gold Member from Germany – Dino Wierz – I was able to join for the first time
the famous GP Event, which is regular once a year in Biel, as a guest. Dino as
driver of daddy’s new BMW, Bea, Henryk and myself had a lot of fun on the way
to this Event, but unfortunately our group were in two different hotels
splinted.
Meanwhile I
think I joined in the last few months more GP Events than “normal” Events open
for every member. But this time – as guest – I saw the different to a
GP-Membership: they were able to purchase some Specials (one per GP-member) in the
Swatch kiosk; guests were not allowed to do so.
With this
highlight for the Swatch-Maniacs, buying Specials, the Event started. In a
welcome speech held by Patrick, he introduced some Swatch-Designers and his
Staff, then divided in two groups one was able to use their credit-cards (mean
kiosk), the other group visited a product-presentation of the forthcoming
Swatch-collections. The other way rounds on the second half of the afternoon.
Was it the first time I saw “BMT”-Meridian real? And was
the “welcome flag” intended to be
written wrong (as this sentence the grammar-review say)? First answer is: I
think no, but I’m not really sure. The answer to the second question we will
never get – I believe.
Later on two
buses drove to a pig-farm… for dinner and surprising games like shooting with a
cross-bow (no points for me!), driving with a tractor on a seesaw, milk a cow…
we do not had the time to test everything. As every time the group arrived too
late and so the delicious buffet (own slaughtering?) was opened immediate. Here
every new Gold member received a special scarf: white with the Club-Logo and
the names of every new Gold-Member on. We had the whole week more than 25
degrees Celsius… and a scarf? Funny thing. Of course the winner of the games
got some prices, one was a bottle of wine, I remember, because Dino won it with
30 points at the crossbow station. Everyone was able to get Swatch-Posters,
namely from the 27th Canton series and from the “X-treme” contests.
Last highlight of the evening at this farm was a pig-race… we should bet which
pig is the fastest and how long the pigs need for the race. Wow, they are
faster than I expected. Also here the person with the best result got a reward.
Back in the
hotels, some people joined the bar and made trades, other people went to bed to
be fit for day two.
