3. Day: Sunday
Saturday was the boat-trip on the
river Thames, Sunday we joined a “flight” with the so called “London Eye”
Ferris wheel. But what I really forgot to report on Saturdays page was that on
the vessel everyone got the very limited Special Swatch GB 907. I gave her the
name “Club Mission 2002 London”, on the identification label is no name printed
– only the number. Why not GB 007 ? This was (British- ?) humour ! It is a Gent
Loomi, on the wrist-band written “Club Mission 2002 London”. See here a picture. When the Loomi-button is touched,
“007” is shown on the place where it shows 7:00 o’clock normally on a watch… No
special package, but a paper-sleeve comes with this nice Swatch. Limitation as
told us: 200 pieces, 50 of them for Hayek private collection.
Back to Sunday activities: breakfast as
Saturday – did I wrote somewhere that I really enjoy this type of breakfast ?
But beginning this day was busy: because the automatic-wake-up-call did not
work as it should do we only had around 30 minutes to pack all stuff, to take a
shower and to do something against the hangover. 8:50 a group started to walk
to “London Eye”, 10 minutes later the buses collected another group. Personally
I preferred the walk, Sunday morning in London is really nice, not so much
traffic, sun-rising (of course this was a bit earlier, but the weather was as
yesterday and the day before very fine), and a lot to see and to take photos.
Ferris wheel needed 30 minutes for one
turn, the feeling thought only around max. 5 minutes. Really interesting views,
also when looking to the other gondolas, especially when they are on the upper
side… breaking here ! Same decision following: riding bus or walk to “The
Dickens Inn” at “St Katherine’s Dock”. Now I joined the bus, because meanwhile
it was really hot and the sun burned
At “The Dickens Inn” lunch were served:
Caesar Salad with Parmesan Shaving, Croutons and Dressing followed by Fillet of
Salmon or alternate Italian food or “Stir Fry Vegetables” in a filo pastry.
Dessert: Apple pie caramel with cream. Unfortunately I had to leave very early
to Heathrow – my flight back was on 4:50 p.m. and I was told to came not later
than 1,5 hours till departure. So maybe I missed something, but James and
Patrick did already her speeches when the first group left. Both said “Thank
you” to all the participants – I answer also with “Thank you” – not only to them but also to Nicole(s), Katy
and the others from the Swatch Group, especially to Lynn Bolton and her “Head
for Heights”-Crew. Nice event, best – perfect – organisation (which is not
always for sure at such meetings). People were not there missed something !
Because it was a “Secret Event” I’m not allowed to tell anything happened J !
Arrived Heathrow together with Rainer
we met some other “Swatchers”… they booked an real early flight back in the
morning on the 28th, unfortunately not in July but in August, which
was a little mistake. They had to buy new tickets – first available flight was
at 6:00 p.m. and the price for this tickets was very high. Bad things happen.
Are you finally arrived home ? No names and Airports here: SECRET MISSION –
