"MY NEOPLAN" - What a title... considerations about NEOPLAN:
There were surely times when I draw this coaches (more bad than good)
and when I thought I could drive with such a coach - as a mobile home - from
town to town. I thought about a NEOPLAN-Hymn (!)... we had to style a LP-Cover
in school and my result was a Cover for the
"NEOPLAN-BUS-STOP-SHOW-BAND" ! (This band is [was ?] reality - look
at NEOPLAN's company news-paper).
Not long ago there was the NEOPLAN-Inhouse-Exhibiton and the attraction
of the last years was gone. The coaches still looking great, but since the
company is part of a big group (MAN AG) it lost a lot of the original charme (?). Maybe the impression is
wrong: in former times only the boss drove his BMW 5-series, today a lot of
companies-cars standing in the parking-area. OK, I understand they do not drive
Mercedes. If I had the choice I'd prefer the product of Stuttgart, but - I
don't drive a car ! My favourite is to use the public transport
("ÖPNV"). The buses which shows "The Star" (Mercedes) are a
bit better in daily use is what I found out when driving with the SSB - unfortunately. Maybe one of the motive why there were no city-buses
at the NEOPLAN-exhibition. For the future one demand: The "MAN-Lion"
for the city-buses and the "Auwärter-Schwinge" for the luxury
coaches. Is it not the nearly the same at "Evobus" ?
