Reflection on "Horse-bomb" in Colombia Article

This assignment was done in preparation for my Spanish 3-4 final exam.  Our teacher gave us an article from a Spanish newspaper and our objective was to translate the story, all verbs that were underlined, and all of the words we did not know to English. From this translation, I have learned some new infinitives and words, that rebels in Colombia are using horse-bombs to cause terror on the population, and how our final exam is going to be because translating an article like this is what is going to be done.

I liked this assignment mainly because it was challenging yet not too difficult to translate, and because it gives me realization of what I need to learn in two weeks, namely article words such as “only” and other words such as “southwest”, “although”, and “located.”  If I were to do this again in the future, I would mainly focus on my sentence structure; I translated this story word for word and at some parts did not bother to modernize the syntax, resulting in a weird reading.  This exemplifies my mastery of this ESLR because it shows my knowledge of being culturally diverse in my ability to understand the article and write it out in English.
