" How much can I expect to pay for a Neo puppy? "
Please keep in mind when shopping for a Neo puppy, The looks vary from breeder to breeder. If you are looking for a Show / Breeding quality puppy, Please print the standard and take with you when you go look at pups. You can compare the Breed Standard to the parents of the litter you are looking at.

Another important comment: Looking for a breeding quality pup, you must keep in mind, that people are going to look for certain bloodlines in a pedigree. Perhaps, lines that are familiar to them...
For example: Ironstone, Fruit D'Amour, Del Nolano, Del Gheno, etc.

.
Looking at the parents is MOST important. Your puppy will turn out with their qualities. With a small percentage of the pups lineage. (relating dogs,  grandparents etc)

There is also a large range of money you can pay for a puppy. I have seen them priced from $200 - $3500. And every where in between. This DOES NOT mean the $3500 puppy is the best one. Nor does this mean the $200 puppy is the worst one either.
You are paying for the quality of the puppy. Quality meaning that the puppy poses all of the things that written in the breed standard.

The puppy must be structurally correct first. Correctly proportioned, Correct angulation, Correct tail set and more, all these things are found in the breed standard.

Then you must look at the bone girth, does the puppy have ample skin.

Last but not least, The head. You want the shortest muzzle, wide muzzle, correct stop, correct ear set, again all these things are found in the breed standard.

Review: When looking for a Show / Breeding quality puppy:
You are looking for Correct Structure, Mass, Thick Bone, Skin/Wrinkle, Correct head.

Temperament is passed from the parents as well. 2/3 genetic  1/3 learned. This should be considerd when looking for a pup.

The cost of the "pick" of the litter should not exceed more then the stud fee:
For example: Stud Fee = $1500 / Pick Puppy Should equal $1500

When shopping for a Pet quality puppy, one that is purely taken into a family, Temperament is the most important thing. It is passed from the parents, and is 2/3 genetic   1/3 learned behavior.

Pet quality sells for LESS money then Show / Breeding quality puppies.

Pet quality DOES NOT mean the puppy lacks in all the areas as a show puppy, And sometimes can be simply that a testical did not drop, Tail too long or too short, etc.

But often times is the least quality pup out of a litter.

Myths:
B u y e r     B e w a r e :
There is NO rare color. Mahogany & Tawny are not dominant colors in a litter, and unless specifically bred for does NOT get produced. Please see our breeding colors page to see how the "colors" of the dogs are produced. Tawny and Mahogany should NOT sell for more money because of color. Remember the Quality!

I have also seen this ad "black puppies that might turn tawny".
There is NO WAY anything like this will happen!
Brindle (light tawny / tan colored stripes) on the other hand does come in all colors.

** Also keep in mind that an older pup or Adult will usually be more money. Due to that dog is coming into his/her maturity. And the genetics of the dog is showing definite. You will be able to see what the dog will look like as an adult.

** Research the "Registry" ... Some registrys are NOT accpeted as recognized registrys. The most recognized registry's are :
.
AKC-FSS / USNMC -- ALL USNMC papers are now AKC-FSS.
ANMA -- No Longer Registers.
FIC -- Not recognized by AKC-FSS
NMCA -- Not recgonized by AKC-FSS, poorly run outfit. Some get papers some dont.
CKC -- Not recognized by AKC-FSS

Questions To Ask Breeders:

1. How Long have you been with the breed ?
2. How old are the puppies parents?
3. Do you breed to club standards?
4. Do you work or Show your dogs? What Titles do you have?
5. Why did you breed these two dogs?
6. What Health problems have you seen in your dogs?
7. Do you offer a guarantee?
8. Do you screen for hereditary defects?
9.  Do you have a contract, USNMC papers (or other papers) Parents Certifications
and pedigree before I purchase or put a deposit on a puppy?
10. How many litters do you have each year?
11. Can you provide references?
12. What are the price range of the puppies?
13. Does cost include shipping & crate, ect.?

.
You will want to see all possible paper work on the Parents (& or) on the puppies. If at all possible get Pictures of the parents. It is the Looks of the parents that make the genetics for the pup. All puppies are cute and you will want to take them all home. So make your decision Carefully! DO NOT buy the first pup you see. Go look at as many as possible. But remember a breeder will usually not hold a pup if you like a certain one, In case you still want to look at more.. it is then wise to place a deposit to hold that pup until you make a choice. Most breeders will refund all or some of the deposit.
Good Luck!
