History of the Neo Catechumenal Way
The Neo-Catechumenal Way started in Singapore in 1978 in the parish of St Bernardatte and in 1980 in the parish of St Francis of Assisi. There are at present two Neo-Catechumenal Communities in the parish of St Francis of Assisi and one Community in the parish of St Bernadette. The 2nd Community in the parish of St Francis of Assisi is a English and Chinese speaking Community. That is why this web page is also written in Chinese, in the hope that the communities in Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau as well as China can see this web page. In 2001, the Way started in the parish of the Holy Trinity and there are now three communities in this parish. After the Catechesis given in Nov 2003 and again in Jun 2005, a community has been formed in the parish of St Anthony. Hence there are now altogether seven Neo-Catechumenal Communities in Singapore.
