Charisma Carpenter was born on July 23rd 1970, and grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada. During her early years she was a model, and often competed in beauty pagaents. Charisma took her passion for cheerleading from high school to the professional circuit in 1991 for the San Diego Chargers.
Charisma's work on television started with commercials and progressed to guest spots on "Baywatch" and "Pacific Blue". These led to a lead on "Malibu Shores", but unfortunately for her at the time, was not a big hit with the viewers. She later went on to audition for Buffy, originally wanting the lead , but was recalled to read for Cordelia. Imagine if she had got the lead for Buffy? Couldn't imagine anyone else playing Cordelia now.
