1. How exactly do you spell his name?
If you've been looking around, you have probably seen Alexei's name spelt in a variety of different ways (Aleksei, Aleksey, Aleksej).
It appears that these name variations occur because different countries try to get their spelling of his name to sound as closely to the Russian pronunciation as possible. However, due to the fact that letters are pronounced differently in their different languages, each country's interpretation of his name from Cyrillic (Russian letters) is different - some countries have used "x", some have used "ks" etc. No matter which spelling you use, it is all the same thing - it is just up to your own personal preference. Here are a few more facts concerning his name -
in a handwritten interview, Svetlana Khorkina wrote his name - Alexej Nemov
if you look closely at Alexei's signature, it appears that he signed "Alexei" (click here to see the shirt with his signature)
