Minimum/General Experience: Provides technical editing support for technical materials as required. Duties may involve updating existing documentation, which may include various user manuals, operations manuals or project plans. Minimum level of experience is 3 years.

Functional Responsibility:

• Makes analytical and judgmental decisions improving upon initial edit from lower level technical publication writers and editors. Reads for meaning, improves word choice, writing style, and organization. Reviews document as a whole to ensure consistency and agreement. 
• Possesses thorough knowledge of technical and specialized terminology, acronyms, abbreviations, and scientific notation in the fields of aeronautical engineering, electronics, weapons design, and avionics. 
• Conducts final quality check of electronic files prior to release. Checks text, graphics, and tables for “big picture” errors. Confirms all text, tables, and illustrations have proper security markings. 
• Represents the Company in outside discussions, technical forums, etc. 

Minimum Education: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in technical communications, liberal arts (with English major or minor), journalism or related discipline is required. Education may be substituted with two (2) years of related experience for one (1) year of college education. The years of experience substituted to meet education requirements must be in addition to the minimum experience level required.
