At Christmas time I got an update on the Fish. On Friday night we went to the Royal for a drink and lo and behold the fish was back behind the bar. I asked my Uncle Frank to fill me it.
After this article was published there was only one more threat made to the fish. One evening the culprit kidnapped one of the Royal's 'good old boys'. The dressed him up in a trench coat and a mask. Under the trench coat was the fish with two sticks of 'dynamite' stuck in either side. He also had a threatening note around his neck that said "Come any closer and the fish gets it". The regular walked through the bar flashing the fish to people and then he snuck out the back and disapeared. A short time later the fish reappeared behind the bar of the Royal - yet no one claimed the reward!!! |
