Siguatepeque is a small town, located in the central highlands of Honduras at an altitude of 3500 ft. This fortunate characteristic of geography accounts for a climate where the temperature ranges from a low of perhaps 50 degrees in the "dead of winter" to a high of perhaps 90 in the blistering heat of summer. Neither air conditioning nor furnaces are necessary.

The town is noted for its pine forests and the school grounds border on a forest reserve.

Low cost public transportation is available and one can travel to the beaches, Mayan ruins or other interesting sites in two to five hours.
