Soft Lines - 05.01.2001

I stop to think of your eyes on that night.
The trace of your shape and your lines in dark light.
To revisit a moment, and put into song.
Could something so lovely, be something so wrong?
I think that the former shall show itself true.
Not the latter of which only shortsighted few,
Could wrong all the right in a moment of two.
On the edge of the act, and the brink of a fall,
you let me grow closer, removing a wall.
I'll not live a life of untaken lost chances,
I have but one evening, and one heart for romances...
So if ever there was a creature more true,
She'd be sent back to heaven in the favor of you...
Be damned if I'd leave that last moment too soon.
Stead I'll linger this spot and replay this last tune.
They say - all is fair - in love - and in war...
But this matter of fact leaves me wanting for more,
All these words from a bard of some far away time,
shall grace this dark portrait of your elegant lines...
And speak of the color that could still be there.
The faintest of traces seem frozen in air...
A painting exquisite - this masterpiece blue.
Exuding the beauty and refinement of few.
I'll stumble a while still drunk with your smell.
This desert's mirage - in my eyes do dwell.
If ever you want to, just call and I'll cast...
This spell with a verse, which ever shall last
so strong in your heart, your mind and your reason.
remember this option no matter the season
I'll greet you with kindness and friendship undaunted,
For a creature like you, shall always be wanted.
