Incantation

Summoned from a sea of emptiness.
Called within the blue lines recited,
Such a vision of oblivious desire.
He weaved her an intricate spell.
Words of an epic incantation,
"For those who have lost" was the story that he did tell.
From thin air, she came on that fine eve...
A bright smile in the dark.
He revelled in the painting of her warm lines.
Such sweet enchantment could not be known.
Without the canvas that was her delicate form.
Maybe she did not realize her power:
Poised on the brink of something brilliant.
He felt guilty just for looking at her.
But his eyes feasted on with flagrant delight.
How could one not acknowledge?
The purity of her profile.
The image that haunted.
The time and concern.
The only thing he'd believe in.
The creature that held the key to completion.
Fair maiden, I thank these stars.
Which seemed so bent on my own destruction.
For now they've brought me to you.
