Casual

She spoke so casually, her words the blade,
she stuck them in and turned around, her back to me
she licked the blade - I hit the ground.
One thousand dreams shattered at her feet.

The path of nothing that leads to me.
I caressed her beauty in the center of it all.
She pulled away without much pain.
I can't believe what she is saying.

The waters of her heart seemed so pure and clean,
Now the truth is shown, shallow and mean.

I cannot accept the thing that is so meaningless
I will not allow her anything less.
I cannot obtain peace in this mindless game.
I will never win, my failing dream of everything.

She let him touch her in such a way,
Only heavens angels should ever know
inside I know he's not worthy
And I wish she would have lied.

Brutally honest, her words do flow
They pull me under, the fires below
Burn my eyes, this anger and rage
All our time now thrown away.

I was the glutton for your punishment
I was the scapegoat for your moods
I always took the blame.
You would never do the same.
I will not regret our time.
Even as I cross the line.
Throwing all my life on out.
The edge of your word does cut my skin.
It falls away - I've lost again.
