| The young man, whose name is Pierre, is staying in a hotel by a lake. He becomes acquainted with a young woman, Laure, and her aunt, who are also staying in the hotel. Pierre assumes Laure is staying there with her aunt because they eat together and, at night, they leave the communal areas of the hotel together. But then, sometimes, Laure returns to socialise with the members of a sailing club who are also guests at the hotel. They claim to be a sailing club, but the only time Pierre has seen them out on the water, they appeared to be trying to destroy their boat. |
