Robidoux
Swampscott dory built by Joe Hedenberg 1907
rebuilt for sail by K. K. Vining 1953-1955
Robidoux  was  my  family's  sailboat   from  around  1955  until  1976.
Renovated  and  restored  by  father  with  help  from  mom  and  kids,  she  sailed   the   western   North  Channel  for  more  than  20  years. Originally  built  in 1907  as  a motor launch by my great Uncle Joe, her  classic dory  lines caught my father's eye the  first summer he came  to visit my  mom  at  the  family  cottage  on  Neebish  Island.  I  think   my Grandmother was glad to be rid of it.   She  was a great  sailboat till the rot   in  her   keel   overtook  my  father's  willingness to  tackle  a   third restoration.  By  then  we  had  purchased  a  Cape Dory 25  and  were exploring further into the North Channel.

Pictured from left to right are my Dad, sister Victoria, Mom, Me and my sister Marge.  The photo was taken in 1958.
