The charm of secrets lie in their exclusivity, whispered among a
close-knit group, a fraternity of KNOWERS. CATTSKI, the band, who
have been making music since 1999, is arguably Cebu Music’s best
kept secret, silently building a strong and loyal following among
the widest cross section of listeners.
Their music runs the gamut of Sheryl Crow, Joni Mitchell, Jewel,
Melissa Etheridge, Alanis Morissette, No Doubt, Garbage, Shawn
Colvin, Sarah Mclachlan, and the Indigo Girls.
Most of these infuences straddle the borderline between pop and
alternative, not all with heavy radio airplay…but all suffused
with an intelligence and sensitivity that marks the group’s own
original music. Fierce, heartwrenching, cathartic. A collection of
8 original tracks are out in CD format, eponymously titled, with
‘Extended Play’ added to qualify the contents.
The magic of the band truly shines, though, during their live
performances. Electric gigs, amassing maximum amplification, are
strenuous and riveting. Sweaty and loud. On the opposite end of
the spectrum, stripped down to the barest essentials, acoustic
sets focus on lyric content and Cattski’s (the vocalist)
one-of-a-kind, theater-honed, raw vocals. Both leave a taste for
more, a hankering for music played with such gusto it can only be
sincere passion for it.
CATTSKI enjoys the best rapport with their audience. They listen,
react, and assimilate. And the interaction is two-way, mutual
satisfaction the end result. More importantly, the respect of
their peers is evident, the individual band members careful not to
squander so by working unrelentingly on their craft to be, for
lack of a better term, musically perfect.
So the band continues to evolve. As the word spreads, the circle
of KNOWERS expands. The band is poised to break out of the shell
that brands them a secret. Carving a niche, they shall inevitably
become, in their genre, the last word.

consists of gabrielle (beany byke) on vocals/guitars/keyboards,
julienne (yen)on guitars/keyboards, felicia (isha/isya) on
bass...Finally, got one! rob ceballos alternating with julienne on
the drums and guitars. ^_^ let em fight over the sticks ^_^
the group itself was born out of a really weird notion to be ruler
of the intergalactic kingdoms; and the name came from one of
gabrielle's favorite vegetables. (when asked "why
cauliflower?", that's the answer; and besides, they find the
name amusing; perfect steamed with melted cheese and ground black
pepper. yum.) <~ hah! you just wait, i, gabrielle, shall rule
the universe!!!!! *laughs wickedly*....*grins* astig si shaider!

destruction ang hipon ah...(you can tell that this is going
nowhere, shaider has no connection to the band
whatsoever...forgive us for the inconvenience of having a crazy
hyper woman in the group...)
anyway, they do have a lot of fun, despite the fact that they're
all still busy with graduating and stuff...but that's what makes

Fancycakes was formed on May 22, 2003 focusing in creating their
own brand of alternative music. They opted this name because like
a cake that has various stuffs and decorations on top of it, their
music has a similarity in the way they formulate the themes in
their songs. With each member contributing their own styles and
creativity, they were able to produce songs outpouring with sounds
and beats, touching different realms of music. It was the groups'
collaboration and dedication that helped define the songs they
wanted to produce with distinctively slow and fast tempo equals a
moderate pop rock group called "Fancycakes."

After the Six Chronicles hiatus...Purim is born. Purim started as a four-piece(crizz,mars,rick,jake) band in 2003 playing music and have undergone line up changes. Their first together was last December 6, 2003 at Paddys at that time they were still called as Six Chronicles. Actually, Purim is the pseudonym of Crizz in her webdesigning business and later on decided to give the name to her new band that was in the second gig last February 22, 2004 @ Paddys.
In mid of March just this year, Mark (actually played guitars before for the band in a session while the group was still starting) joined the band once again as bassist to avoid the conflict and the interchange of instruments to be handled by Mars(bass to guitars and vice versa) and Jake(bass to guitars and vice versa).The final line-up of Purim: Crizz on vocals, Jake and Mars on guitars, Mark on bass and Rick on drums... performed at MTS Taboan last April 4, 2004, Mark's first gig with the band. Last April 26, 2004 gig @ Paddys, the band played their very first composition entitled, Cancer.

There is the serrated edge of the unknown, there is the dull
smoothness of the familiar, and in between, there's SunDownMuse.
The first time you hear them play, you’re likely to cycle from
surprise to self-satisfaction and then back to surprise again.
First, it’s a pleasant revelation to encounter their smooth
sound at some beer-stained bar, in between sets by callow rock
acts who have taken the old “three chords and the truth” edict
a little too literally. Then you settle back in your seat, a
little smug because you’re already filing them away in your head
as retro stylists, drawing on 70s pop-rock for inspiration. But
then line by line and chorus by chorus, you notice that the words
to the songs are not exactly the usual pat platitudes: they sing
of ignorance and innocence, of quarter-life crises, of “a
million reasons to have you killed.” Percussionist Aldous
“Dos” Castro likens the combination to “sugarcoating a
mothball, so that everyone can swallow it.”
Formed in December 2001, the band has gigged everywhere from
Anonas to Intramuros, from Mayric’s to the Music Museum.
Although they went on a brief hiatus a couple of years ago and
experienced some lineup changes, they’re more active than ever
now. “Last year was a big year for us,” says Dos. “We
started getting a lot of gigs.” TV audiences saw them strut
their stuff on In the Raw, they’ve been featured in numerous
productions like NekNekMo and Marooned, and were "lucky to
have lived through the wonderful chaos" of last year's rowdy
San Miguel Oktoberfest at Megamall, when they went onstage right
after another act had been chased off by a hostile, inebriated
crowd. 2004 promises to be even more eventful for the band: they
plan to release their first full-length album, Apathy is the Cure,
sometime in the middle of this year.
