Chapter 3

Seventeen years in the future...

Shou was out on the steps, laying with his head in Sana’s lap as his brother read to him. He liked being read to. It made him feel almost like he could see. He frowned slightly when he heard the noise of footsteps in the gravel. They didn’t sound like any that belonged to his brothers. Must’ve been someone from town. He sat up a bit and turned his head in the direction of where they were coming from. Sana stopped his reading and put his hand on Shou’s shoulder. “Hey, Shou...what’s wrong?”

“Someone’s coming.” He muttered in response.

Sakito sighed, throwing his bag on the bottom of the stone steps. Stupid little town. No one was around, just some demons too old to even know what he was talking about. The stores were all closed because it was Sunday and he couldn't, for the life of him, find his Grandpa's house. He frowned, taking a look at the map again and up the stairs... Maybe on the other side of the hill? He started climbing, already panting from the effort when he finally saw two people sitting on the steps. "Hey! Hey! You have no idea how happy I am to find someone! I'm looking for the bakery that's supposed to be around here." He smiled, crouching on the steps and grabbing the front of his sleeveless shirt on a useless effort to cool down.

Sana glared at the newcomer, his grip tightening on Shou's shoulder. Shou sighed and pushed Sana's hand away. Sana was always paranoid around strangers. "I can show you." Shou offered, getting up and picking up his walking stick.

"Shou." Sana said, a bit surprised. "You can't-"

"I know where it is, Sana. I can do it." Shou said, before Sana could even finish his sentence. He hated it when anyone tried to tell him he couldn't do something.

Sakito was surprised when he realized the guy in front of him was blind, almost falling down when he stumbled some steps back. "Oh...no, really... It's fine, sorry for bothering... And your mate doesn't seem so happy... really..." He could ask someone else. Being guided around by a blind guy didn't sound so great and the brunette beside him looked like he would jump and bite his arm anytime now.

Shou smiled slightly, shaking his head. "He's my brother." He said, moving down the steps with practiced ease. "Just because I can't see doesn't mean I don't know my way around." He paused. "And be careful on these steps."

Sakito nodded, grabbing his backpack from the ground and following the blind man, having much more trouble on the steps then him. He actually fell on his butt on the last couple of ones. "Ouch, someone should fix these things...Where does it lead anyway?" He adjusted his bag while looking at a wild blonde in pink and bright green shirt that was watching some puppies through the glass of a store, making huge bubbles with his chewing gum. Weird fellow...

Shou reached out for Sakito, sensing where he was from his voice. He managed to get a hold of the other's hand with a few tries. "You took the wrong road." He said softly. "Are you ok?"

"I'm fine, don't worry... " He rubbed his bottom with his free hand before looking at the blonde guy again."There's a weird guy ahead...oh, he saw us, he's running to us..." Sakito squeezed Shou's hand, bringing him closer but the blonde just threw a hand over the blind man's shoulder. "Hey, where are you going? Who's your friend?'

"Hey, Rose." Shou greeted, turning his head towards him for a second. "I'm showing this stranger to the bakery." He answered. He then squeezed his hand around Sakito's to get his attention. "Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't get your name."

Sakito smiled, the blonde looked friendly... a lot more then Shou's brother anyway. "I'm Sakito, nice to meet you both." Rose nodded, smiling and stretching a hand to him.

"I'm Rose, Shou's brother." Sakito was surprised for a second. Whoever gave birth to them must be really strong.

"Oh... That's a big family. I just met your other brother...Sana?" Rose giggled, pointing to the bakery at the end of the street.

"Bigger then you think. Hitsugi, our other brother, is at the bakery. Dad sent us here to get some supplies."

"Looking at the sweets again?" Shou asked, a bit warmer smile making it to his face. "I want to go see if he found anything." Shou gently tugged on Sakito's arm as he continued walking towards the bakery. "You know how I find it every time?"

Rose laughed, nodding even if his brother couldn’t see it. "I gave him some money so he would buy some for me too. Do you want any?"
Sakito squeezed Shou's hand to show he was listening. "How do you do it? I would be run over by a car on within the first couple of steps."

"I'm drawn to the good smell." Shou answered, leaning his head on Sakito's shoulder. "You smell good too." He complimented. In his mind, he had already decided that Sakito must be beautiful. He seemed like a beautiful person.

Rose for once didn't yell and pinch at being ignored, looking to the other side and pretending he wasn't listening.

Sakito stared at Shou with wide eyes, not knowing how to react. "Erm...Thanks, I guess." He was sweaty and feeling dirty, but he chose to keep his mouth shut. Once they were facing the bakery doors, he looked up, frowning. He would kill his mom for making him come here to the end of the world. "So.. I guess we're here."

Shou nodded a bit and reluctantly let go of Sakito's hand. "I guess so..." He muttered, not really wanting to go home. This was one of the few times he had actually gotten to talk to someone for any length of time without Sana being by his side, being overprotective. Not that he didn't love his brother, he just needed some independence.

Rose sensed his brother's wish and decided to act. "Hey, let's get in, Shou. Hitsugi is there and you know how he is. Someone needs to get him out of the sweets section." He used the hand on the blind man's shoulder to guide him inside, holding the door open to Sakito."And Sakito, maybe you should join us for dinner tonight? It would be lovely to have a new friend... not many people around here, you know?"

Sakito smiled a little, blushing. Now, wasn't this guy nice? And he really wanted to talk to Shou a little more, he was a interesting man, even if he didn't know how to act around him. "I'll settle in and then I'll ask my grandpa, ok? Where do you guys live?"

"Up the steps." Shou answered, as he made his way over to the sweets section, once again led by the scent. "Hitsugi!" He called for his brother, knowing he'd be there.

Hitsugi turned so fast that Sakito jumped, not knowing if he was scared by the movements or the amazing quantity of piercings on the demon's face. But the short man didn't seem to notice him, only smiling at his brothers. "Hey guys, I got what dad wanted, but I can't choose a sweet! Help me will ya?" He smiled sweetly, actually looking a little psychotic because of the rings everywhere.

"Sakito, what do you recommend?" Shou asked, sensing that Sakito was still near by. He could still smell him.

Hitsugi turned to him, smiling. "Oh, hey. You're new around here?" Sakito nodded, smiling to him as well.

"I'm Sakito, nice to meet you... And I like the blueberry cake. Looks exactly like the one my mom makes, and since the owner is my grandpa, I can say it tastes divine."

"Let's try that." Shou said, tugging on Hitsugi's arm. It sounded delicious anyway.

Rose almost jumped in excitement. Sweets were always good! "Hey Hitsu, ask for a whole cake, Sakito is coming for dinner today!" He tapped the other demon on the back a few times, soon throwing his arm around his shoulders and leaning on him.

Sakito almost fell with the friendly pats, but smiled anyway. Weird family, but they looked happy. "Hey guys, I should get going. My grandpa doesn't even know I'm here yet... I'll be there tonight okay?"

Shou moved toward Sakito's voice and gave him a little hug. "See you later, Sakito." He said, before stepping back. He finally made a friend!

After saying their goodbyes, Rose and Hitsugi guided him out of the store, slowly walking back to their house. The shorter of three, looked up, enjoying the calm atmosphere. "He seems like a nice guy, Shou... It will be great having him for dinner."

Rose nodded, but frowned after a second. "Yeah... If Sana behaves. He can be so damn anti-social sometimes it hurts." When they finally reached the top of the stairs, Rose ran to Satsuki, jumping and attaching his much taller frame to his dad's back. "Hey, we've got a new friend. I asked him for dinner, is that okay?"
Satsuki laughed a bit and nodded. "Of course. I'll make a little extra for dinner tonight."

Shou wandered back into the house to find Sana. He wanted to ask his brother to make him look nice for tonight's dinner. He wasn't sure if Sana would agree to it, but he knew Sana would do almost anything for him.

Rose nodded, kissing his mother's cheek and getting off him. "I'm going to watch a movie with Kang. I'll be back for dinner, ok?"

Kyo greeted his children, grabbing the bags Hitsugi brought with him. "Thanks Hitsu... Oh, and where have you been Shou? Sana is worried." He said the last bit walking to the kitchen, arranging the food on its place.

Satsuki moved over to help Kyo, whispering to him. "Shou was out with a stranger looking for the bakery." Satsuki said, retelling the information he heard from Sana.

Shou found Sana upstairs when heard him sighing. Shou moved into the room and sat on the bed, placing a hand on Sana’s back. “Sana, I’m back. I’m sorry I worried you.” Sana smiled slightly and drew Shou into his arms, hugging him.

“Don’t worry, Shou. I’m just glad you’re back.” Sana replied, running his fingers through Shou’s hair. Shou smiled and leaned against Sana, relaxing with the gentle touch.

“Sana...we’re having someone over for dinner. Can you help me get dressed nicely for it?” Shou asked, a bit nervously. Sana’s hand stilled and he looked down at Shou. A guest? Was it that stranger from before? Sana frowned, but he gave in when Shou nuzzled him slightly.
“Fine, I’ll get a brush and start with your hair.”

While Kyo was helping Satsuki to make dinner, Hitsugi went to look for his brothers, feeling a little bit bored. He entered the room and fell on Sana's bed, sighing. "Hey guys, whatcha doing? Dad and mom are making dinner together today so I'm lonely...and bored."

"Help me make Shou pretty for his date then." Sana said, smirking slightly. He couldn't help teasing Shou a little. Shou blushed so cutely.

"Saaannnaaa...." Shou whined, blushing at the word date. "It's not a date if all of you guys are there."

"Wanna help with his make up?" Sana asked Hitsugi, trying to appear more positive about the whole thing. He still felt that this stranger was going to steal Shou away from him.

Hitsugi nodded, getting up from the bed and looking through Sana make up case, choosing a simple black eyeliner. "Ok, I'll use the eyeliner now..." After warning his brother, he applied the thin line beneath his eye. "Looks good... You're so beautiful brother."

Shou smiled a bit at the compliment. Of course, he didn't really know for sure if he was beautiful, but he hoped Sakito thought so. He blushed a little more at that thought. Maybe he had a little crush. Sana finished fluffing out Shou's hair and adding a little spray to it. "What should he wear, Hitsugi?"

"Something sexy." He smirked, laugh clear on his words. "Okay, really. Maybe we should keep it simple. Too much can scare Sakito away." He walked to Shou's room, coming back with a black washed jeans, purple shirt and fitted jacket that belonged to Satsuki. "You always look good on this." He grasped his brother hand, running it over the soft fabric of the black jacket.

Rose entered the room too, after his parents "shooed" him from the kitchen. "Kang's sick, he needs some sleep...Oh, What're you doing? You need more make up Shou!" He grabbed the abandoned eyeliner, adding a little more to his brothers eyes.

Shou laughed a bit as all his brothers "made him pretty" for Sakito. Perhaps it was overdoing it a little, but it was fun anyway. He felt like he got support from all of them and that made him feel more confident. Sana nodded his approval once Shou's hair and make up were complete. "He looks really good. Let's let him get dressed and then see how dinner is progressing."

Hitsugi sat on Sana's bed, waiting for Shou to get ready. Rose sat beside him, leaning on his brother. Kyo choose this moment to enter the room, looking around with a raised eyebrow. "Dinner's ready...And...Well, I was gonna ask if your friend is coming but now I'm intrigued. What are you all doing here looking at each other? Sana, you fought with Hitsu again?"

Sana shook his head. Why was he always to blame anyway? He generally didn't fight too much when Shou was around, because Shou didn't like fighting. "We were fixing Shou up." He said, crossing his arms.

Kyo nodded, deciding to go back to help Satsuki with the table. "Better if you all get ready too." He used a hand to mess Sana's hair, just because he knew the other had a temper, and left the room.

Sana growled softly and went to brush out his hair and get changed into something nicer as well. Shou finished dressing and went down stairs again, wanting to be the first to greet Sakito when he arrived.

Hitsugi was still changing when Rose walked down the stairs, dressed in a white shirt with pink patterns, jeans and a lot of accessaries, his hair tied up in a stylish way to the back of his head. He sat beside Shou with a sigh, nuzzling his brother's neck. Seconds after he started whining about missing Kang, there was a knock to the door. He looked up, smiling at Shou. "You want to get it?"

Shou nodded and stood up, moving over to the door and pulling it open. He sniffed the air. "Sakito?" He said, taking a guess but making it seem like he could tell only by the other's scent.

Sakito smiled even if the other couldn’t see it. He stretched his arm and grasped one of Shou'd hands with both of his. "It's me. Good evening." He stepped inside nodding to Rose, who smiled to him and got up.

"I gonna get us something to drink." With that said, he left the room, leaving Shou and Sakito alone, standing by the door.

Shou lifted one of Sakito's hands to his lips and kissed it. "Thank you for coming." He said, smiling in appreciation. "Would you like to have a seat somewhere?"

"Yeah, that would be nice, thank you." He followed Shou inside, but Rose came back before they could even seat.

"Hey guys, dinner is ready. Let's go, yah? We can all talk and mess around later." The blonde walked to the bottom of the stairs, looking up before yelling. "Sana, Hitsugi, dinner's ready!"

Sana came downstairs, trying to not cast a glare in Sakito's direction as he sat down at the table. Shou pulled out one of the seats for Sakito, the one that was next to him.

Hitsugi was the last one to join the table, sitting down while apologizing.

Kyo looked up, smiling to his son. "It's okay, Hitsu. Now that you're all here, care to introduce your friend? I'm Kyo by the way, the father. And let me say you look awfully familiar for some reason." He opened a bottle of wine, but slapped Rose's hand when he reached for it, pointing to the orange juice on the table.

"This is Sakito, he's the grandson of the demon who owns the bakery." Shou said, introducing him to his parents.

"Nice to meet you, Sakito. I'm Satsuki, Shou's mother." Satsuki said, smiling at Sakito. Sana grumbled something under his breath as he filled Shou's plate with food for him.

Sakito smiled to them both, giggling a little at Rose's indignant face at having to drink the juice. "Well, nice to meet you all. I came from the capital, I study and live there with my parents, Uruha and Aoi. I'm working for my grandpa here this summer."

Kyo raised both of his eyebrows, glad he wasn't drinking anything when he heard the information. "Aoi and Uruha? I know them! When I left the city, Uruha had just got pregnant. So, that was you." He smiled, feeling quite happy for having some tie with his past life. As much he loved Satsuki and his children, he missed the kids at school.

Satsuki coughed slightly and elbowed Kyo, giving him a look. What if Sakito mentioned to his parents that he knew Kyo? Would they figure out that Kyo wasn't just watching over an angel, but raising a family with one?

"Do you need water?" Sana asked, quickly standing up to get Satsuki a glass. He figured out what the cough was for already. If they talked too much about themselves, their secret was in danger of no longer being a secret.

Kyo eyes widened, his mouth had been faster then his brain, something that didn't happened very often. He choose to stuff his mouth with food then, feeling quite stupid and looking at their guest with suspicion in his eyes.

But Sakito just smiled, sipping his juice. "I'm sorry, but I don't really remember they ever mentioning anything. I'll do my best to try and remember to ask about you tough... But forgive me if I don't, I forget things easily." And he got back to eat, wonderfully unaware of the tension at the room.

There was a brief moment of silence before another attempt at conversation was made by Sana, after getting Satsuki some water. "Have you got a prospect for a mate yet, Sakito?" Sana asked, hoping that Sakito already had his eye set on someone else. Then Shou wouldn't try to leave them. Their family was the only thing safe for them anyway.

Sakito blushed heavily, almost choking on his food. Looking at Shou with the corner of his right eye, he denied. "No, I've never thought about it really. They say you just know when you find the mate, right? And you Sana? Or any other of you guys?"

Kyo excused himself, going to the kitchen and then leaving the house by the back door. With shaking hands, he lit a cigarette, looking at the stars and taking deep breaths.

Satsuki got up a little bit after Kyo and joined him outside, letting the kids talk among themselves.

"No, we don't. We don't need mates." Sana said, folding his hands on his lap to keep them controlled. Shou sighed to himself. Here we go with this again, he thought.

Rose didn't think like Sana at all, but he wasn't quiet like Shou, slamming his glass on the table the moment the words left his brother's mouth. "Yes, we do. I do at least. In fact, I'm planing on mating next year." He smiled to Sakito, who congratulated him. "His name is Kang, I'll introduce him to you some of these days. He just is not here today because the poor baby has a flu."

Hitsugi just kept quiet, not wanting to be caught in the line of fire. It was always him who fought with Sana about everything, but this was a very touchy subject to Rose, so he just shut up.

Sana stood up from the table and turned to Rose. "You'd mate with anyone that could tolerate you!"

"Sana..." Shou said in a warning voice, frowning. They couldn't for once get along, even when they had guests over.

Rose, who had picked up his glass once again, looked up, shattering the glass of the now boiling liquid against the table. The plates and food where thrown against the walls like by a invisible force, the source being the place where the cup was broken. Rose's eyes where shining red and a gust of wind had opened all the windows. "NEVER TALK LIKE THIS TO ME AGAIN, YOU JEALOUS AND COWARD FOOL!" He got up, his eyes back to normal, grabbing his scarf and throwing it around his neck. "I'm going to spend the night at Kang's. Please tell mom and dad, Shou..." With that words he was out.

Sakito yelped at the outburst, hugging Shou and falling to the ground to avoid the missiles. When was safe, he duck his head back, watching with horror the power demonstration that Rose's rage unleashed. Sakito couldn't even kill anything bigger then an ant with his energy yet, and they were the same age! After the blonde left, he looked at the blind man in the ground. "Hey, are you okay?" Sakito helped him up, one hand on the man's waist and the other under his arm.
Sana hit a wall and punched a hole through it before he went storming up to his room. So what if he was jealous? Sana figured that he would be the only one who wouldn't find a mate anyway. Besides, what place was there for a half angel, half demon?

Shou leaned against Sakito, feeling like he was gonna cry. He hated when his brothers fought. "I'm going to walk you home..." He said softly, taking Sakito's hand. "I'm so sorry you had to see all this..."

Kyo dragged the angel inside and already started yelling even before he saw the mess. "Sana! Get your ass down here." It was not the first time and it would not be the last.

Hitsugi was on his knees, biting his lips while he tried to clean up the the floor from forks and knifes the best he could. "Be careful brother, I'll go down the steps and wait for you when I finish cleaning this mess."

Sakito just let himself be guided out of the house dumbly, still impressed. It took some minutes before he gathered the strength to say something. "I-it's okay. Really." He attempted a laugh, sounding nervous. "Your brothers are just a bit scary. But I confess I wish I could do that...I mean, the things just flew, the windows opened! It was seriously cool!" He was making wide moves with his free hand on his excitement, almost forgetting the other couldn't see.

Shou smiled a bit as he held Sakito's hand, swinging it slightly. "That's nothing. Sana's the most powerful out of us, luckily he has more control over his powers, just not his temper."

Sakito eyes widened and he looked at Shou with disbelief. "Are you kidding me? That was awesome! Are you all guys powerful like that? And Sana is more? Now I'm afraid of him." He chuckled, squeezing Shou's hand between his fingers. "But I'm not afraid of you, you're a very nice guy." He leaned in, kissing the blind man's cheek.

Shou blushed and turned to Sakito, touching his cheek. "Can I tell you a little secret?"

Sakito nodded before he reminded himself of talking. "Yeah, of course, go ahead..." He wasn't sure why he kissed Shou, but it was a friendly gesture right? Nothing felt wrong inside him when he did, so he refrained himself of apologizing.

"When I touch people...I can see faint outlines of them. No details, but it's something." Shou said, moving his finger gently over Sakito's face to take in the details that he couldn't see. "I think it's part of my power, though it seems pretty useless."

Sakito smiled, grasping Shou's other hand and placing it over his face too. He walked to stand in front of the other, closing his eyes and raising his own hands to the blind's man face. "I don't see anything that's not in my memory.... But it's so different... Knowing someone like this..." He softly ran his fingers over every curve on Shou's face, over the soft skin of his mouth and pulsing veins of his neck. "I don't think your power is useless at all. It helps you to imagine what's in front of you...." He frowned, trying to remember every detail of the other's face and being surprised when he couldn't. "You're a very strong man, I can't imagine living like this... " He sighed, trying harder. "I've never knew I depended so much of my eyes..."
Shou touched every part of Sakito's skin that he could, even running his fingers through the demon's hair. Shou then touched his fingers over Sakito's lips before leaning in and placing a kiss on them. "I was right, you are beautiful." He said, with a little smile.

Sakito smiled, a little embarrassed. "No, you're the beautiful one." He leaned down, kissing Shou's lips for a little longer this time. Maybe this summer would not be so bad after all. After they parted, he pulled on Shou's hand lightly, walking to the bakery. "Come on, no one is here and its all dark... I confess it is a little creepy." He laughed, kissing the hand intertwined with his.

Shou leaned against Sakito as they walked, trying to contain his happiness. He just wanted to skip. Sakito had kissed him back! "Does that mean you like me?" He asked, curiously.

Sakito laughed again, a little nervous. He swung their joined hands back and forth, thinking about the question for a second. "Yeah... I think I do. You're beautiful and calm...and... I feel at ease with you."

"I like you too." Shou said as they reached the bakery. He didn't really want to let Sakito go again. He wanted to spend as much time as he could with the demon before heading back home.

Sakito looked at the bakery with a groan, his grasp on Shou's hand stronger. "I have to go. Can we see each other tomorrow? At afternoon, after my shift?" He wound his arms around the other demon's waist, holding him close, breathing his sweet scent.

Shou hugged Sakito, nodding against the other's neck. "Anytime, I'll come." The hope of meeting with Sakito again lifted his spirits, but it was still hard to say good bye for the night.

Sakito dropped a little kiss to Shou's neck before entering the bakery, standing at the door. "I'll get you at your house tomorrow. Maybe you can show me around a little more? Just... please make sure your brothers don't kill me." He laughed a little, giving one last squeeze to the blind demon's hand.

Shou nodded again, smiling. "Good night, Sakito. I'll see you tomorrow."

Sakito smiled, finally closing the bakery door and going to great his grandpa.

Hitsugi was fidgeting at the bottom of the stairs that lead to their house, chewing at his nails. Shou was sure taking a long time. One more minute and he would go down the road, looking for his brother.

Shou returned home a little while later, taking his time and enjoying the night air. He was so in love.
Hitsugi ran to his brother when he saw him at the end of the road, grabbing one of his hands. "You took a long time, I was worried. It's dangerous to walk around at night, the time the angels prefer to attack. Please don't do that again..."

"The angels aren't supposed to attack as long as we have mom here." Shou pointed out, shrugging.

Hitsugi turned around, guiding them up the stairs. "Well, yeah. But mom is supposed to be released this year... And.." He stopped, sighing. "I'm afraid. We will have to move, run... won't we? Besides, I have been having this dream... And you are taken away from us in it. I just don't want anything bad happening to you." He hugged his brother close, fighting the tears in his eyes. "You know I dream about the future sometimes... So please, take care?" He sniffed, kissing his brother's cheek.

Shou hugged Hitsugi, trying to comfort him. "Don't worry, I'll be careful." He promised.

"Come on." He pulled on his brother's hand lightly, guiding him to the house. Once inside Kyo walked to them, messing their hair and offering a mug of hot chocolate to each of them. "We've made some sandwiches since our dinner was interrupted, come on..." He motioned to the living room, going to sit beside Satsuki.

Shou moved over to the table to eat one of the sandwiches. Sana frowned and poked at his food, not really hungry. "Will you be leaving us too?" Sana asked Shou, sighing to himself. Shou frowned a bit.

"Sana, I'm not going anywhere..."

"You say that now, but I know how you feel about that demon." Sana muttered, moving away from the table and going back up to his room.

Kyo sighed, leaning on Satsuki and looking at his two remaining kids. "Is he talking about Sakito? I'm glad you've found someone, Shou...But Sana is afraid of losing his brothers, he even dislikes Kang because of it. But you are his precious little jewel, so put up with him ok?"

Hitsugi leaned on the other side of his mom, nibbling on a sandwich. "Yeah... but what will happen if Sakito find out about what we are? I mean, just don't tell him yet brother...Because sometimes I think Sana is right. How will we mate? We're not like everybody else."

Satsuki kissed both Kyo and Hitsugi's heads, nodding. "Hopefully you can find mates that will accept who you are and are willing to hide it."

Hitsugi pouted, pulling on a loose thread on Satsuki's coat. "Rose did... But he's beautiful and slim and tall... Blue eyes, blonde hair. He could whistle and a hundred demons would be there for him, kneeling. Shou is too sweet to not be loved... But what about me and Sana? A terrible temper and a ugly shorty." He frowned and grunted, not used to talk about his frustrations, but happy that his parents would listen to him once in a while.

Satsuki slid his arms around Hitsugi, hugging him close. "You've got it all wrong, Hitsugi. You may be short, but so is your father and I think it's pretty cute. Besides, just like Shou, you are charmingly sweet and you know that finding a mate is way more than physical appearance. You're meant to be with someone that will love you just as you are."

Hitsugi just looked up, smirking at his mom. "Well, you're the mother, you're supposed to think I'm cute."He leaned in and kissed Satsuki's cheek, standing up in the process. "I'm going to sleep. Good night people." He ran up the stairs jumping two steps at time.

"I'm going to bed too. Good night, mom and dad." Shou said as he left the table to follow Hitsugi up the stairs.
Kyo waited until he heard Shou's door closing to look up at Satsuki. "We should really think about a little vacation. It will be good for them too... " He kissed Satsuki's forehead, laying on the couch and pulling the angel on top of him, a old habit he was not willing to change any time soon. "Where would you like to go?"

"I don't care, I just want time with you. Why don't we go at the end of summer and stay at the inn or something?" Satsuki suggested, laying soft kisses along Kyo's neck.

Kyo sighed softly, leaning his head back to give Satsuki more room. "The inn? Ten minutes from here if you're taking a lazy walk? I think we need to change the scenario a little more. We have been nowhere else since the kids were born, too afraid that something would happen to them. But I think it's okay if we leave them for a couple of days now." He slid a hand on the back of the angel's pants, just resting it there. "There is that mountain with shacks about an hour from here. What do you say?"

Satsuki nodded and nuzzled Kyo. He was right, they deserved more of a vacation. "It sounds perfect."

At the end of that summer...

Rose smirked, sneaking behind Sana with a bucket full of water clutched on his hands. Kang, Hitsugi and himself where messing around with a hose and a lot of buckets, all three of them dripping wet, but Rose wasn't satisfied yet... After all, Sana was in the backyard too, he should join them! With a shout of war, he dropped the bucket on his brother's head, immediately opening his wings and flying away at full speed, almost choking with hysterical laughter. It was the last days of summer, time to enjoy!

Sana growled under his breath as his own black wings sprung from his back and he was flying up after Rose.

Shou laid innocently in the garden, taking a nap while a little butterfly landed on his nose.

They weren't the only ones out this beautiful day though, an angel watched from some nearby trees, observing the children playing and...their wings? This made things a lot more interesting.

Kyo left the house with the bag he and Satsuki would share for the trip. They would stay out five days, and he could just hope the kids would be okay and the house would be whole when they got back. Using a hand to cover from the sun, he looked up, watching the two kids fighting in a playful way, while Hitsugi scared the shit out Kang making wild loops high in the air, Rose's boyfriend clutching his shoulders and screaming. The demon laughed to himself, shaking his head. "Kids, hey! Get down...Hey kids!" He looked at Satsuki, pointing up. "If we're leaving now, go get your children. They don't even know I'm here."

Satsuki laughed and flew up into the air in an instant, easily flying circles around each of his children. "Get down and stay down, all of you. You have to say goodbye to your parents."
Sana reluctantly went back to the ground, going to shake Shou awake so they could both give their parents a hug goodbye.

When Satsuki was back on the ground, Kyo made a mock hurt face. "Show-off..." But laughed just after that, hugging his mate. He was looking forward for some days alone with the beautiful angel. He looked over Satsuki shoulder to his approaching kids, going to hug each one of them, even if they were still wet. Sana was last and when they parted, Kyo looked at him right in the eye. "Take good care of everyone, ok? I trust you can do that." He was turning around when he seemed to remember something. "And no, you can't lock Shou in the house or kill Kang or destroy anything."

Sana rolled his eyes and smiled at Kyo. "I promise I won't...though all other forms of torture are allowed, right?"

The angel in the trees smirked as he watched the happy family. This was perfect. He could just wait until nightfall and snatch one of these babies out of their nest.

Hitsugi smile died when their parents vanished from their views. He walked closer to Sana, speaking in a low voice and looking ahead of him so no one would notice. "This is not good... I've dream about chaos last night and I know it's not just a dream. They were so happy, so I kept it to myself but...let's take care of everyone with that in mind. Try keeping everyone inside tonight."

Sana nodded and hugged Hitsugi close. He was scared as well. He glanced over at Shou, who was innocently smelling the flowers. "We should get everyone inside now, actually. We need to dry off anyway." Sana let go of Hitsugi to go get Shou to come in with him. There was no way he'd let anyone take his precious Shou.

That was the moment Sakito choose to show up, greeting everyone and beating Sana in getting to Shou. '"Hey beautiful!" He kissed the other's cheek, holding him close. "I missed you." He leaned in to kiss Shou's mouth, but gave up when he saw Sana approaching. The other still scared the shit out of him.

Shou smiled and pulled Sakito closer, kissing him and knowing that Sana was approaching. Sana coughed, pulling gently on Shou's shoulder. "Shou, we should get inside. Too much sun isn't good for you." Shou pouted as he parted from Sakito.
"But can't Sakito come inside too?" He asked. Sana shook his head and slid his arm around Shou's waist.

"You can see him tomorrow, Shou."

Sakito stood quiet, bothered by the situation, but not about to fight with Sana as it would be suicide. That was when he had a brilliant idea. "Your brother is right Shou, you should get inside..." He looked at Sana then. "But can I say goodbye to him for a sec first?" Gently pulling on Shou's arm and walking away a few meters, he hugged the blind demon close, whispering close to his ear. "Can you sneak out tonight? I'll wait for you at the bottom of the stairs, 10 o'clock..."

Shou nodded and kissed Sakito's cheek. "I'll be there." He promised before walking back towards the house and going inside with Sana.
Hitsugi grabbed a towel to dry himself with and changed clothes, going to the kitchen right after that. "I'm making lunch today!"

Rose dragged Kang up and to his room, locking the door behind them.

In other words, everything looked completely normal.

Shou stayed pretty quiet the rest of the day, though that was normal, Sana kept getting this sick feeling in his stomach every time he saw his brother. He would camp out in front of his door, he decided. Which he did end up doing, only Shou had another way of escaping. Once it was time, the blonde poked his head outside the window and jumped out, his wings coming out and letting him glide down to the ground safely. Sana might've blocked the door, but he didn't prevent Shou from seeing Sakito. Shou quickly walked the way to the bakery, knowing the path now by heart.

Sakito was waiting at the bottom of the stairs that lead to Shou's house, chewing his nails while he waited for his love. He was already a little late...

"Sakito!" Shou called out when he reached the bottom of the stairs. He wished he could see the other to know where he was.

Sakito walked to his lover with heavy steps to make sure he didn't scare him. "I'm here. Shh, you'll warn your brothers that you're not in the house like this." He hugged the blind demon close, kissing the plush lips.

Shou wrapped his arms around Sakito, thankful to finally be with him. It didn't matter that they spent most everyday since they met together. "Where are we going tonight?"

Sakito smiled, rubbing circles on Shou's lower back and kissing his neck with open mouthed kisses. "Hmmm...Let's go to my room. Grandpa is out tonight..." He stepped closer, pressing his slim hips slightly into Shou ones.

Shou moaned softly and nodded, taking in a small breath. "Let's go." He said, gently pushing Sakito back so they wouldn't end up making out right there.

Sakito almost ran to the bakery, quickly getting into his room and laying Shou down on his bed. His kisses were fast and needy, his hands exploring under his lover's shirt. "You're so beautiful..." He was breathless, all that perfection making him wanting to devour him and just sit and stare at the same time.

Shou pulled Sakito closer and ran his hands over the other's smooth stomach, returning all the kisses that he could. "Sakito..." He breathed between the kisses.

"Yes?" His answer was a breathless whisper, hands pulling on Shou's shirt, easing it off of the slim body and mouth attacking the unprotected nipple. He couldn't control his hips anymore, they were slowly thrusting against Shou's, drawing little groans from his throat.

Shou gasped and thrust his own hips up in response. It felt so overwhelmingly good. "Are we...going to mate?" He asked as he arched up into the touch of the other's lips on his chest.

This woke up Sakito from the pleasure and in a second he was on his hands and knees, looking down at his boyfriend. "I don't know... I confess I didn’t think about it." He sat up, pulling Shou's body to his. "But I have to go in a few days, I'll only be back next summer. Then I'll have finished school... If we do mate, our child will have no father for over a year so... can we wait? Will you wait for me?"

Shou nodded and hugged Sakito, rubbing his back a bit. "Of course I'll wait. I'll miss you so much though." He admitted, wishing Sakito didn't have to go. Or at least that they could live closer.
Sakito hand traveled down, going to cup Shou's slight bulge, caressing slowly. He smirked, licking the demon's ear and whispering. "But I don't mind you visiting... We can always...hm, have fun."

Shou shivered at the touch, gently rolling his hips against Sakito's hand. "Mmm..."

Sakito sat against the wall, hugging the other demon close to him, his hand continuing his work through the fabric until he had coaxed the other to full hardness. Once that was done, he opened the pants button and lowered the zipper, sliding his hand in. His movements now were faster and the fabric, much more thin. Using the hand thrown over Shou's shoulder, he adjusted his lover's head just the way he wanted so he could ravish his mouth.

Shou's moans were muffled into Sakito's mouth and he continued to rock his hips into the other's touch. He moved his own hand down Sakito's chest and to his lover's arousal, rubbing that at the same time.

Sakito kept kissing Shou until he couldn’t focus anymore, the pleasure escalating to new heights. He threw his head back, moaning, his hand quickly finding the underwear fold and grabbing the hot, slick skin from his lover's cock, rubbing faster.

Shou groaned deeply, resting his head on Sakito's shoulder as he thrust up into Sakito's hand, quickly feeling his release approaching.

Sakito was close too, his eyes glazing over and head lolling back and forth. "Shou..."

Shou’s hand tightened around Sakito’s length for a second, his hips jerking up as he came into the demon’s hand. He panted against his lover’s neck, moaning once more.

Sakito came almost at the same time, groaning loudly, white spots dancing before his eyes. After he was finished, he sagged against the wall, moaning weakly at the aftershocks. "Hm...amazing... you're amazing..."

Shou curled up against Sakito, kissing his neck. "Do you really have to go?"

Sakito reached for tissues on the bedside drawer, cleaning the mess on his hand and Shou's belly the best he could. "Yes... I have to finish school... But I'm not going today or tomorrow, so don't worry too much yet, let's enjoy the time we still have together. Besides, we will write and call, right? And you will be welcomed to visit anytime, ok?" He kissed Shou's forehead, grabbing one more tissue to clean his lover's hand and himself before closing both of their pants.

Shou sighed and laid down on the bed, pulling on Sakito's hand. "I can't stay here the whole night though. Sana will get worried."

Sakito just hugged him, pouting. "Stay a little more... oh! I've done something for you." He got up, running out of his room and down the stairs. When he got back, there was a dessert bowl in his hands filled with a hot slice of chocolate cake and ice cream. "It's not much, but its my favorite. It's called petit gauteu."

Shou sat up and held out his hands, sniffing the air. "Smells good."

Sakito smiled, sitting in front of his mate. "Let me feed you today." He took a slice of cake and a little bit of ice cream on the spoon, guiding it to Shou's mouth. "So? Any good?"

Shou took the food into his mouth and smiled at the delicious taste. "It's great." He replied.

Sakito tried to make it last, but it was just some minutes before the desert was gone. He dropped the bowl on the bedside table, leaning in to hug Shou, almost laying down on him. "I don't want you to go..."

Shou smiled, he certainly didn't want to go and Sakito was making it hard to leave him. "I really should..."

"But I really don't want you to.." He whined, hugging Shou tighter and hiding his face on his belly.

Shou sighed, running his fingers through Sakito's hair. "I'll spend all of tomorrow with you, I promise."

Sakito groaned, but let go of Shou, standing up and pulling the other with him. He looked to the sky through the window, clouds were thick and there were no stars in the sky. He could even see a thunder or two. "I better walk you home. The night doesn’t look good and I think is gonna rain..."

Shou shook his head and kissed Sakito's cheek. "I'll be fine, Sakito." He said, moving to leave the room. "I'll see you tomorrow."

Sakito frowned. "Are you sure? Well, at least take my umbrella, ok?" He got a bright red umbrella and pressed on Shou's hand, closing his fingers around it. When they were at the door, Sakito kissed him once more. "Please, be careful...." The dark, starless night made the town look spooky, but that was probably not a problem for Shou.

Shou used the umbrella as he stepped out on the street and started walking home. He was almost to the steps leading up to his house when suddenly arms grabbed him from behind. He dropped the umbrella and struggled, about to use his powers when suddenly he was knocked out.
