"Where've you been, Caboodle? You just missed lunch," Marilyn says relieved to have her friend back.
"I thought I was getting a new home. I've been with my prospects all morning, but it turns out they think I might be a little big since they have a young�un. I tried to squat down and make myself look shorter, but they didn't by it." Caboodle explains shaking her head.
"Oh, well. It was fun to go play in the yard." Caboodle sighs as she lays down in the front of her cage.
"Anything exciting happen here while I was gone?" Caboodle asks inquisitively.
King Tut responds, "Oh, yes! A ton of stuff. Let's see. Marilyn took a nap. There's a new pup on the block, Lollie the Collie. She's friendly. She just stopped by quickly and was swept off to the mad scientist. I hope he is more hospitable to her and puts a blanket down on that cold metal table. I thought my paws were going to freeze off when I was in there. And I listed off all my good qualities to a nice young couple who almost adopted Marilyn. Marilyn was so taken that she almost died, but was revived when the food cart man came rolling by. And -" King Tut gets cut off.
Lollie the pretty, black Collie comes strolling by.
"Hi, everyone!" she musters out cheerfully.
"I'm Lollie."
Everyone says hi and introduces themselves.
Lollie the pretty black, Collie tells them that she used to live on a houseboat and that sea water is the best for a shiny, pretty coat.
Marilyn smiles as she listens to Lollie. She really likes this place. She's never had so many friends. She hopes she never has to leave.
"It was great!" Lollie continues. "I would race from one end of the houseboat to the other to chase the birds off the deck."
"That sounds exciting!� King Tut says.
