Continued: The Puppy Princess
Book#1 in The Puppy Princess Series
Paddle is the boy dog and you better watch out when he turns around because he'll paddle you in the nose with his big, long tail!

Marilyn quickly understands why Teeter was so excited to get a friend like Totter. It is so much fun to play all day with Piddle and Paddle.  They play all sorts of games.  Tag is always a favorite but you've got to be real careful of Piddle's little treasure ponds. And the catch your tail game is loads of fun, too.  Caboodle the big, black Toy Poodle from next door is the judge since she is so tall and has a bird's eye view.

All we do is play.  Well, sleep and eat too.  Marilyn thinks as she lays down for bed in her corner of the cage with a big smile on her face.  She can't wait for tomorrow to come to see what new games they will all play.

But when she awakes she is all alone.  Where is Piddle and Paddle?

Caboodle the big, black Toy poodle says, "Marilyn, great news they were adopted this morning by someone who had two little boys."

Caboodle sees that Marilyn doesn't seem to think the news is so great.  She'll understand soon, Caboodle thinks.

"Hey, Marilyn!  Look across the way.  That is King Tut the divinest of all Mutts. Or so he thinks," she says laughing. "He's sleeping now, but maybe he could be your new play partner?  He is quite the pup."

Marilyn looks over at King Tut curled up into a beautiful ball of gray and black fur.  His fur is fluffy, silky, and shiny.  Not what one would think of for a mutt.  His hair is so fluffed up that his head and tail are completely hidden.  Right in the middle of the big ball of fur, Marilyn sees something really pretty.  A brightly colored, jeweled collar that sparkles and dances underneath the bright lights of the Puppy House.  It almost blinds her, it is so bright.  It reminds her of when she used to play princess and her kingdom was her little niche in the back of her yard.

Marilyn shrank back down in the corner of her cage.  She doesn't want a new play pal.  She just wants to go home.  Is her owner ever going to come get her she thought?

King Tut awakens, and slowly sits up proudly, slowly shaking the sleepiness from his crystal, green eyes.

"You can't be thinking like that way anymore, you there.  Forget your old owner, you're here to find a better, new owner," King Tut sounds off.

Marilyn shrugs off King Tut and takes a nap, saddened, unsure of her future.

"Hey, look alive over there! Hey you!"
