Continued: The Puppy Princess
Book#1 in The Puppy Princess Series
They stop at a doorway and a strange man motions for them to enter.  Marilyn is lifted up to a cold metal table, where she is at eye level with the strange man.  He looks like a mad scientist with little, wire rimmed eyeglasses and little tufts of silver hair sticking out here and there on his bald head.  He greets Marilyn and then examines her eyes, her ears, and her mouth.

"All good," he says as he pats the top of her head.

Then all of a sudden Marilyn feels a slight stick in her backside and quickly turns around to see what it was.  A bee sting Marilyn wonders?  She quickly scans the area for a bumble bee and only sees the stinger part coming out of the mad scientist's hand.

Marilyn starts to get very sleepy and lays down on the cold metal table.  As she drifts off into slumber she hopes that the mad scientist doesn't get stung by the bee too, as bees can be very sneaky.  She remembers getting stung right on her tiny, black nose when she was just a baby.

Marilyn awakes the next morning to the barking of at least 1000 dogs.  Shes in a small pen and as she slowly opens her eyes, she sees there are dogs everywhere.  A slight smile upturns on her face.

She must be in puppy heaven she thought.

She must have said that out loud because the puppy in the next cage answered her.

"We're all waiting for owners to adopt us.  My name is Caboodle, the big, black Toy poodle," says the girly voice from the next cage.

Marilyn looks up and sees the big smiling face of Caboodle.  Marilyn can tell that Caboodle is quite large as her head hangs over the top of Marilyn's cage.  The big, black Toy poodle has a large, fuzzy ball of hair sticking straight up from the top of her head making her another foot taller.  Marilyn smiles back.

Marilyn more clearly looks around and feels a bit overwhelmed.  Everything looks so hectic, puppies everywhere, some going this way, some going that way.  Marilyn cowards in the corner in a ball unsure what to think, do, or say.

Later that day she is greeted by two playful puppies, Piddle and Paddle.

Both Labradors like herself, but they are midnight black instead of her golden yellow color.  Twins they are, a girl and a boy.  At first she can't tell them apart, but it doesn't take her long to figure it out!

The girl is named Piddle because she isn't quite potty trained yet.  A piddle here and a piddle there.  She'll learn, Marilyn thinks thoughtfully.  Just watch your step!
