Hesburgh Lecture Series
Remaining Fall Luncheons
Christmas Luncheon
UC Game Watch this Saturday afternoon
ND-USC Party (November 30th)
Continuing Announcement(s)
The Notre Dame Club of the Mohawk Valley in conjunction with the Good News Foundation of Central New York is co?sponsoring the Hesburgh Lecture Series Friday evening, November 15th (7:00 PM) at the Good News Foundation Headquarters located on Cosby Manor Road in North Utica. The guest speaker is Father Oliver Williams of the Notre Dame Business School. There is no admission charge or advance reservations needed; a reception will follow.
In light of the upcoming "'bye" football weekend, there was no luncheon this past Wednesday at Tiny's with the final weekly noon luncheons being on November 20th and 27th.
The tentative date for the Christmas Luncheon is Wednesday, December 18th (noon) at Tiny's.
Since it is a bye weekend, the Club (depending on the weather) will be in attendance at the Utica College football game by Coach Mike Kemp (ND Class of '75). There will be a pre?game tailgate with the location to be determined beginning at 1:00 PM. For details, call the Club's voice mail at 315-794?9499.
The Club is tentatively scheduling a gathering celebrating the football team's success which record has exceeded everyone's expectations. This party is being proposed to begin at 7:00 PM on Saturday, November 30th with food (pizza, wings, etc.) beer and soda. The location will be the downstairs grill at the Yahnundasis which room features a number of TVs.
As you are probably aware, the Club' s growing scholarship fund is one that currently provides assistance to eight Mohawk Valley area students to ND. One source of contributions that we have never tapped (but will be repeated in each newsletter as a reminder) is that upon a death, a family in writing the decedent's obituary will consider alternatives for the "in lieu of flowers" provision. Accordingly, the Club is proposing the idea that consideration be given to the "Scholarship Fund of the University of Notre Dame Club of the Mohawk Valley" since 100% of the dollars go to local beneficiaries without any administrative costs associated with the donation.
