Hesburgh Dinner Letter (Martino & Heintz)

Dear Fellow Alumni, Parents and Friends of Notre Dame,

As you may know already, Mohawk Valley Club Prime Minister Peter Karl has accomplished the impossible again. The special guest at our annual Universal Notre Dame Night celebration will be none other than Reverend Theodore M. Hesburgh. Father Hesburgh will be here to receive an honorary degree at the SUNY Utica/Rome commencement exercises on Saturday morning, May 8, 1999.

Our celebration will also take place at the SUNY Tech Campus on Saturday May 6 beginning at 6:00 PM, (possibly earlier, if we can persuade Father Hesburgh to say Mass for us). The evening will include a refreshment and hors d'ouerves reception under a tent until 7:30, dinner catered by Marriott in the SUNY Tech Campus Center, and at 8:30 a dinner program featuring Father Hesburgh. Music will be provided throughout the evening by the "Boonville Symphony Orchestra" and guest bagpiper. It promises to be a very special evening.

We are extending an invitation to anyone who would like to join us, regardless of affiliation to the University.

Tickets are on sale now at $25.00 each and can be ordered through the undersigned. Advance payment by check is requested as we do need to confirm the size of our party as early as possible. If any of you would be interested in "brokering tickets" in your community, please call. We can arrange to send you a block of tickets.

We hope each of you will be able to attend and please bring families and friends.
