Acouple of mid-summer announcements:
When: 1:00PM on Sunday, August 8th
Where: Camp of Dan and Judy Shaughnessy, White Lake, NY
Map (from the White Lake Inn located on Route 28N) with catering by Piggy Pat's of Middleville, soda and beer.
Cost: $13.00 per person, age 5 and under free, incoming/returning ND and SMC students are guests of the Club.
What to Bring:
1. A choice of hors d'oeuvre, salad or dessert
2. A folding lawnchair
3. Swimwear, boating life jacket, tubes, rafts, etc.
4. Lawn games (horseshoes, bocce, etc.)
For those that were at the Shaughnessys camp a couple years ago, this was a highlight event of the year. This is a Club wide event so everyone is invited. The only request (because we have to provide a guarantee to the caterer) is that you respond upon receipt of this notice but no later than this Saturday, July 31st. To make reservations, call the Club's voice mail at 794-9499 with the number attending along with indicating the choice of a favorite hors d'oeuvre, salad or dessert that you will be bringing.
Mark your calendars now for each and every Wednesday noon beginning August 25th at which time we will have our popular Fall luncheons featuring a video of the coach's press conference. As we have done successfully in the past, we will also be passing around a "have/needs" board with respect to game tickets and hotel rooms for football weekends in South Bend.
The Club's excursion to South Bend for the Michigan State game is fast approaching. By now everyone has the necessary information. Any questions, call the Club's voice mail at 794-9499.
At the bottom of the newsletter page is the annual dues notice, please remit to help our nominal treasury.
At the Notre Dame Club of the Mohawk Valley Friendship Society Picnic hel in Elmira on June 19th, our own "Monsignor" Bill Crofton was awarded the Frank Eck Man of the Year Award. Congratulations to Bill whose unlimited energies have been so helpful to our local Club and the Friendship Society.
Club member Stacy Ward of Oneonta has volunteered to have our Club undertake a Summer Service Project next year. If anyone is interested in helping her with this extremely worthwhile cause, please advise the Club's voice mail at 794-9499.
For those using the internet, you should bookmark as a favorite our Club's website which address has been shortened to ndmv.org. I dare say that if you were to compare ours to any other Club's website in the country (or that of any other regional university alumni group), you would be hard pressed to find a better one than this one. The website is not only about our Club as it contains multiple links which allow you to find almost every related Notre Dame site on the Internet (whether it be about South Bend, ND related publications, etc.).
