Irish Invade Syracuse

The number one team in the nation in Women's Basketball, the Fighting Irish, will visit the Carrier Dome this Wednesday night, the 14th, at 7:00 PM (for a �creative' way to spend the V-Day evening).

There will be a basketball game watch to view two of the hottest men's teams in the Big East at this point, the Irish and BC Eagles. The event will be held a week from Wednesday, February 21st, beginning at 7:15 PM at Tiny's. Mark your calendar! Also, the Club will be gathering for some of the post-season tournament games. If you are ever wondering if there is a game watch at Tiny's call the Club's voice mail.

Communion Breakfast

The Communion Breakfast will begin with the 10:30 mass on Sunday, April 22nd at St. John's the Evangelist followed by brunch at the Yahnundasis.

ND vs West Virginia Trip

The Club is offering the following two options for the ND-West Virginia game on Saturday, October 13th.

Group Travel:

(1) Departure on Thursday afternoon, October 11th at 4:00 PM, from Albany airport with arrival at 7:00 PM in South Bend. Three nights of "luxury cabin accommodations� at the KOA on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings. Departure from South Bend on Sunday morning with a mid-afternoon arrival in Albany. Van transportation will be used to shuttle between the Campus and the campgrounds. The approximate cost (roundtrip air, accommodations, game ticket and shuttle) for this would be $325-350 per person (noting that if we were to fly from Syracuse, the airfare alone would be double).

Tix Only:

(2) Purchase of up to four individual tickets alone for $50.00 each with the differential between the face value ($36 in 2000) and $50 being a tax deductible donation to the Club as a �mini-fundraiser'.

In either case reservations are being taken on a �first checks received basis" (with preference being given to the participants in the club trip over the sale of individual tix) . The only prerequisite is that you have paid your 2000-2001 dues of $20.00 which can be done at the time of the order. Checks should be made payable to the "ND Club of the Mohawk Valley" and forwarded to 12 Steuben Park, Utica, NY 13501. For the group trip, a $50 nonrefundable deposit for each reservation is needed (since we must provide this to Anthony Travel by 2/23); full payment of $50 for each game ticket (option #2) is required at this time. Note: Any deposit checks for the Club trip must be received by Wednesday, 2/21 since we have a firm deposit requirement to the travel agency by Friday, 2/23 in order to preserve the low airfare presently �on hold".

Other Events in 2001

March 8-10: ND's 'Florida Fling' in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. For more information, call the Alumni Office at (219) 631-8574.

Weekend of April 27th: Alumni Senate Meeting weekend/Blue-Gold game; if a member of the Club wishes to volunteer for the meeting, the Club will partially subsidize the travel expense.

May-June TBA: UND Night

August 5th: Student Send-off Picnic

Weekly Fall luncheons at Tiny's (Wednesdays at noon) beginning September 5th and continuing through November 21st
