Club Dues
The Communion Breakfast will be held next Sunday, April 21st beginning with the 10:30 AM. Mass is at St. John the Evangelist in New Hartford followed by a buffet brunch at the Yahnundasis. The brunch's price for adults is $12; $8 for children ages 5 to 12. The Club would sincerely appreciate reservations by noon this Wednesday, April 17th (315-794-9499).
Since there will be no televising of the spring game, we will not have our annual game watch (live or taped) for the Blue/Gold game. However, there will be a noon luncheon at Tiny's on the Wednesday that follows, May 1st when Club members whom will have been at the game will review the weekend. In addition, we may have by then the Blue Gold Illustrated (BGI) video featuring the incoming recruiting class.
Our UND Night is scheduled for Friday night, May 17th with ND Asst. Athletic Director Tony Yelovich as the guest speaker. This event again will be held at the Fountain Elms with a cocktail hour beginning at 6:30 PM on the patio followed by dinner at 7:30. Details to follow.
The Club has been awarded 40 tickets for the Columbus Day weekend game (Notre Dame vs. Pittsburgh). Again, we are planning on staying at the "KOA Conference Center and Suites". This year we have also reserved (beside the cabins) newly built cottages, which contain a bathroom, microwave and refrigerator. The Club's plan is to give first preference for the game tix to those interested in the group excursion (approximate cost of package will be $250). Travel is tentatively being planned by caravan (two 15 passenger vans or your own vehicle); if you would prefer travel by train (sleeper compartments) or plane arrangements can be made if you want to join our group at the KOA. However, if there is enough interest, we may alternatively run a luxury coach bus and then rent vans in South Bend. At this point, you need to pre-register how many tickets you would be interested in purchasing and your preference as to the mode of transportation by calling upon receipt of this memo the Club's voice mail 315-794-9499.
As some of you are aware, long time fellow Club member Bob Jones has leukemia. I am advised by Jim Smith of the following upcoming, fundraisers for which Bob is one of two beneficiaries:
a. From 5-8 PM Thursday, May 16th there will be a spaghetti dinner at the Ilion Elks B.P.O. Lodge 1444 located at 8 West Street in Ilion with adult tickets selling for $8.00 (ages 5-12 $4.00; under 5 free; $20 maximum per family).
b. There is a raffle being conducted that evening with only 150 tickets being sold in advance; 1st prize is $2,000 and second prize is $1,000.
I have tickets for both of these and I urge you to contact the Club's voice mail at 315-794-9499 to show your support by requesting tix for yourself or others. Bob, whom is no longer working, has, now been referred to the Dana Farber Institute in Boston for treatment. Our prayers are with him!
At this time the Club is trying to gauge the preliminary interest level in a group excursion for the ND vs. Maryland game at Giant Stadium on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend, August 31st (8:00, PM). Accordingly, if you have any interest in this, please call the voice mail at 315-794-9499.
Club Dues of $20 will never be refused by our Treasurer, Kurt Hameline, c/o District Attorney's Office, Oneida County office Building, Utica, New York 13501.
