The first-ever SuperNet main event pitted NCW Heavyweight Champion, Matt Xtreme, against NCW World Champion, Jesse Russell. This was not a normally contested match however, it was contested under Iron Man rules and the winner would unify both titles for the first time in history.
This match lived up to the hype, and then some. What started as a friendship born of competition, turned into a rivalry by the hand of greed. Xtreme had recently alligned himself with Rose as she began molding him into her 'man'. The two became a couple thereafter, and Russell did not take lightly to it and he feared Rose would change his friend. Xtreme did not listen to his warning and instead attacked Russell, ending a close relationship.
This set the stage for thier SuperNet encounter. Earlier in the night, NCW Owner Andrew Ferreria made sure there would be a winner, so if by any chance the match would lead into Sudden Death, it would become a Ladder Match. That is exactly what happened as both men scored 3 points heading into the end of the match. The match continued under Ladder Match rules until Russell was able to push Xtreme into a stack of tables to grab both titles and become the victor.
After the match, Russell was joined in the ring by The Camaras, Murder Inc, and The G-Unit as they celebrated his win under the fall of confetti. |
