| Sarah sat at the table. She was really hungry. She figured if she started eating she would throw up. "You not feeling well?" Mitch asked. "No." Sarah said. "Jennifer took me to the doctor today. They said it was a big going around." "Well maybe you ought to be upstairs in bed." Mitch said. "Daddy, I'm fine. I'm just not hungry." Sarah said pushing her plate from her. "That's understandable." Jennifer said. Sarah shot Jennifer a dirty look. Jennifer got quiet immediately and her parents looked suspicious. "What's going on?" Linda asked. "Nothing." Jennifer said. "Just a little inside joke between Sarah and me." "Sarah what's going on? And don't lie." Mitch said. "Nothing is going on, daddy. We just didn't want you guys to know the joke. Okay?" Sarah said. "Okay." Mitch said. "You don't need to get upset." Sarah felt sick. She immediately ran out of the room and to the bathroom making it just in time. Jennifer left the table and went to help her. Her parents sat there confused. Jennifer walked into the bathroom and handed her a cool wash cloth. "You okay?" "I'll live." Sarah said taking the cloth. "I hate being this way." "Mom and dad are suspecting already. You need to tell them the truth." Jennifer said holding Sarah's hair out of her face. "They will find out eventually." Sarah said. "I just don't want them to know right now. And when they find out it's Nick's baby they'll kick me out." "I highly doubt mom will let that happen." Jennifer said. "You'd be surprised on what mom let's dad do." Sarah said standing up. "You feeling better?" Jennifer asked. "I'm okay. For now anyway." Sarah said. The two laughed and walked out of the bathroom after cleaning everything up. Sarah walked upstairs and called Kevin. She talked to him a little bit and he agreed to come get her for awhile. Kevin arrived and knocked. Linda answered the door. "Why hello, Kevin. What brings you here?" she asked. "I came to see Sarah." Kevin said. "Well come in. I'm sure she'll love to see you. She hasn't been feeling well lately. You will probably perk up her spirits." Linda said letting him in. "She's upstairs in her room." "Thanks." Kevin said heading up there. Kevin knocked on Sarah's door and she opened it. He walked in and closed it behind him. "So what's going on? Your mom said you were sick." Kevin said. "I'm pregnant Kevin. Jennifer and Nick are the only other ones that know." Sarah said. "This can't get back to my parents." "Nick is the father?" Kevin asked. "Yeah." Sarah said sitting on the bed. "I love him more than life itself." Kevin sat down next to her. "I know you do. Why don't you stay with me and Kristin for a few days? Get your mind off things and away from here." "Okay." Sarah said. "Thanks." She got up and packed a bag with all her belongings. She followed him downstairs grabbing her jacket. Jennifer came out of the kitchen seeing her. "Where you guys headed off too?" Jennifer asked. "Kevin asked me to stay with him a few days." Sarah said. "Kristin will be there too." "Okay. You be careful." Jennifer said. "Don't worry about her." Kevin said. "We'll take care of her." "Have fun dear." Linda said. "Don't worry. I will." Sarah said. Sarah followed Kevin out to his car. She saw her father walk out onto the porch. She looked back at him, then walked over. "I hope you can forgive him dad." Sarah said. "I have." "I just don't want you screwing up your life, cupcake. That's all." Mitch said hugging his daughter. "I promise I'm not. Just let me make my own decisions, okay?" Sarah said. He smiled and let her go. Sarah walked back over to Kevin and he opened the door for her. She got in and he closed it. Kevin nodded his head towards Mitch and got into the car. He took off and Sarah sighed. "I hope he never finds out anything." she said. "I hope he doesn't either." Kevin said. "Because if he does, you are a dead person." "I know." she said. "I just wish he was understanding like my friends parents are." Kevin placed a hand on her shoulder. "Everything will turn out good in the end." Sarah smiled. "I know." They arrived at Kevin's. Kevin carried her bags in for her and she saw Kristin in the kitchen. "Hey Kristin." Sarah said. "Sarah!" Kristin said glad to see her. "How are you?" "I'm doing okay." Sarah said hugging her. "How about yourself?" "I'm doing great." Kristin said. "How's Jennifer?" "In love." Sarah said. "Same thing goes for Howie." Kristin said. "I suppose Nick will be over?" "Yeah. Once he finds out Sarah is staying with us, we won't be able to get rid of him." Kevin said. "Staying with us?" Kristin questioned. "I asked her to stay to give her a different scenery and away from her parents for awhile." Kevin said. "I mean with the b..." Sarah glared at him. "I mean with her parents being so hard on her, I figured it was time to rescue her." Kevin said covering up his first statement. "You almost said baby. Why?" Kristin asked looking at Sarah. "Oh all right. It's only a matter of time before everyone knows. I'm pregnant." Sarah said. "Oh my gosh!" Kristin said. "We have to go shopping." Sarah laughed at her excited. "Yeah I should. My clothes are kind of tight." "Nick's the daddy?" Kristin asked. "Yes. He's the proud daddy." she said. "I bet you are one happy girl." Kristin said. "As I'll ever be." Sarah said. "I know my parents won't be. They can't even stand Nick let alone hearing I'm pregnant with his baby." "Well let's not worry about that right now." Kristin said. "I'm in the process of cooking dinner. Want some?" "Yeah. I'm starving." Sarah said. "Well come on. You can help me." Kristin said. "Kevin take her things up to the guestroom." "Yes my queen." Kevin said. The girls laughed and walked into the kitchen while Kevin took her bags upstairs and decided to phone Nick after dinner. "That was a great dinner, Kristin." Sarah said complementing her on the steak and pasta mixture. "Why thank you, Sarah." Kristin said. "It's my specialty with the pasta." "Great dinner, hon." Kevin said kissing her cheek. Kristin started clearing the plates off the table and Sarah stood up. "Let me help you." Sarah said. "No, no. You sit. I can handle it." Kristin said. "Oh come on, Kristin. I'm not that helpless because I'm pregnant." Sarah said. "Oh all right. But just this once." she said. Sarah laughed. "Okay." Kevin left the girls to the dishes and he went to phone Nick. He had gotten his voice mail. He left a message about Sarah being at the house and to call him. He hung up the phone as the girl's came into the living room. They all settled down and ended up watching Scream. Everyone was so engrossed in the movie that they didn't hear Nick walk into the house. He walked up behind Sarah and covered her eyes making her scream. Kevin and Kristin both jumped. Sarah immediately stood up and saw Nick standing there laughing. "You asshole!" Sarah said hitting his arm. "Remember I am carrying your child here." "You should've seen your face!" Nick said rolling over in laughter. Sarah walked out of the room. "Sarah. Wait. I'm sorry." Nick said going after her. Sarah drank a glass of water to calm her down. She was catching her breath as Nick walked into the room. "Baby I'm sorry. I couldn't resist." he said walking closer to her. "No, no, no." Sarah said. "Stay back." "What?" Nick asked getting closer. "Down Nickolas." she said hitting the wall. Nick wrapped his arms around her. "You don't like me to touch you? Because if I remember right on our anniversary you loved me touching you." Sarah smiled. "I remember." Nick kissed her softly. "I really am sorry." "It's okay. Just don't do it again. Because if you do, you are in for it for the rest of your life." Sarah said. Nick laughed. "I promise." The two walked back into the living room sitting on the sofa while Kevin and Kristin still had the couch. "You work everything out?" Kevin asked. "Yeah. He's a pompous ass." Sarah said. Kristin laughed. "I bet he is." "Well she didn't call me that a couple months ago." Nick said. "Shut your mouth, Nick." Sarah said warning him. He got quiet. Kevin laughed. "She's got you whipped." Nick got embarrassed and hid his face in the couch. Sarah, Kevin, and Kristin laughed. Sarah was having the time of her life. It had been a long time since she laughed. She didn't want it to end, but with her parents the way they were she didn't know how long it would last. |
