Chapter 8
Sarah sat in the doctor's office nervous. A lot of stuff was running through her head. What would she tell her parents? Would she tell Nick? Would she keep it? Would she give it away? Would she just leave it somewhere? Would she get an abortion? Questions she kept asking herself over and over. Questions she didn't have the answers to.

Doctor Jennifer Nixon walked into the office.
"How you feeling today, Sarah?" Dr. Nixon asked.
"Good as I can be. So?" Sarah asked.
"You are 4 months pregnant." Dr. Nixon said.
"Oh god." she said softly.
"You aren't prepared for this are you?" Dr. Nixon asked.
"No." Sarah said.
"Well there is always adoption and abortion." Dr. Nixon told her.
"No. I'm keeping the baby. I'm not giving it up." Sarah said making up her mind.
"Do your parents know?" she asked.
"No." Sarah said. "And I prefer to keep it that way."
"Okay. That's what patient/doctor confidentiality is." she said. "Do you know the father?"
"Yes. He's the best thing in my life, but we haven't  seen each other in months because of my father." Sarah said.
"At least you know who it is." Dr. Nixon said. "I want you here in one month from now for a check up."
"Okay." Sarah said taking the pamphlets from her.
"You can schedule on the way out. And here's your baby's first picture." Dr. Nixon said.
Sarah took the picture and she smiled. "Thank you for everything Dr. Nixon. I appreciate it."
"Your welcome." Dr. Nixon said.
Sarah and her walked out of the room. She walked over to the appointment desk.
"Next month on the 17th good for you Miss Jacobs?" the girl asked.
"That's fine." Sarah said.
She paid and walked out to the waiting room where Jennifer was at. She sighed after holding in her breath.
"How'd it go?" Jennifer asked.
"I am 4 months along." Sarah said. "Here's the first picture."
Jennifer looked at it. "Awe. I'm gonna be an aunt."
Sarah laughed. "Be happy. Mom and dad won't be."
"Sarah they'll be thrilled." Jennifer said.
"No they won't." Sarah said. "Do you really think they want an unwed daughter pregnant?"
"Well no, but they have to accept it no matter what." Jennifer said handing the picture back to her.
"You can't tell them anything, Jennifer. I'm warning you." Sarah said.
"I won't. You are going to tell Nick right?" Jennifer asked.
"Yes. I'm going to call him when I get home." she said.
The two got into the car and Jennifer pulled out.
"Do you think he'll be thrilled?" Jen asked.
"I hope so. Because if he isn't, I'm in real trouble." Sarah said touching her stomach.

The two arrived back home and walked into the house. Linda met up with them at the door.
"Where were you guys?" she asked.
"Took Sarah to the doctor." Jennifer said.
"Are you all right?" Linda asked concerned.
"I'm fine mom. Just a little bug going around." Sarah said.
"Okay. Well get upstairs and into bed. I don't want you getting any worse than you are." Linda said.
"Okay." Sarah said putting her coat on the rack.
She grabbed the bag and hid it out of her mom's view. She walked upstairs and into her room closing the door behind her. She put her pamphlets, vitamins, and other information in her desk drawer. She walked over to the phone and dialed a number she should've a long time ago. She was nervous again. Doubt was running through her mind. What if he would reject her after all this time? Would he still love her? She was about to hang up when someone answered.
"Hello?"
"Hi Nick." she said. "It's Sarah."
"Oh my god! Sarah!" Nick said. "It's so good to hear your voice."
Sarah immediately let the tears fall. "Nick I'm sorry. I shouldn't have let my father control my life."
"It's okay, baby." he said. "What's going on?"
"Well I have some good news I rather tell you in person. Can you come over?" Sarah asked.
"Sure. I'm on my way." Nick said.
"Okay. I'll be waiting in my room."
"I love you." Nick said.
"I love you too." Sarah said.
They said their good byes and Sarah sat at her desk. She logged onto the net thinking about how she would break it to him.

Nick walked up to the door and knocked. He had just hung up with Sarah a few moments before hand. She had some exciting news to tell him. He was curious on what she had to tell him. A lot of things were running through his head. He was about to knock again when Sarah's father Mitch opened it.
"What are you doing here?" Mitch asked.
"I came to see Sarah." Nick said.
"She isn't here. Now go away." Mitch said closing the door.
Nick stopped it with his hand. "We are going to see each other whether you like it or not."
"Well today you aren't seeing her. Now get off my property before I call the cops." Mitch demanded.
Nick sighed. He walked away from the door and saw the tree that went up to her bedroom window. He decided to climb it.
Sarah sat at her desk working on her computer. She heard tapping at her window and turned seeing Nick. She stood up and walked over to the window and opened it.
"What are you doing climbing the tree?" Sarah asked.
"I wanted to see you. Your father said you weren't home, so I decided to climb." Nick said.
Sarah helped him in.
"Thank you." Nick said brushing himself off. "Now what's the news?"
Sarah looked at him and smiled, then put a hand to her stomach. Nick was surprised.
"You are?" he asked.
"Yeah. 16 weeks." Sarah said smiling.
Nick picked her up and spun her around once.
"I can see you're happy about this." she said.
"I am. What made you think I wouldn't be?" he asked putting her down.
"I don't know. Doubts going through my head." she said.
"This is the happiest day of my  life so far." he said bringing her closer to him. "Thank you."
Sarah smiled. "Thank you."
They shared a passionate kiss. They were about to hit the bed when Sarah heard her parents.
"Sarah? You up here?" Linda yelled.
Sarah immediately pushed Nick to the window. "Go! Hurry up!"
"When can I see you again?" Nick asked.
"I'll think of something. Now go before we get caught." Sarah said.
"I love you Sarah." he said kissing her one last time.
"Love you, too." she said.
A knock came at her door. "Now go."

Nick pecked her lips and climbed out. Sarah closed her window immediately and answered the door.
"What is it mother?" Sarah asked innocently.
"Who were you talking too?" Linda asked.
"Just thinking out loud again." Sarah said.
Linda walked over to the window and looked down. Sarah held her breath as she made her way over. Then she breathed a sigh of relief. He had gotten away safely. 'Thank you god.' she thought.
"Lay down. Dinner will be in a half hour." Linda said.
"Okay. See you downstairs." Sarah said.
Linda walked out of her room and Sarah closed her door.
"That was close." she said under her breath sitting back down at her desk.
