"So what was so important?" Sarah asked.
"It's a surprise." Nick said. "What's in the bags?"
"Clothes." Sarah said. "I will model them for you later."
"You bet you will." Nick said wiggling his eyebrows.
Sarah hit his arm as she took a slice of pizza. "You are one naughty kid in my book."
Nick laughed as he also took a slice into his hand. "I am. A very naughty one at that."
Sarah rolled her eyes and took a sip of her drink. "Mom and dad were in the store. Kevin shooed them off."
"Way to go, big guy." Nick said.
Kevin faked bowed. Everyone laughed finishing their lunch. They threw their garbage away and headed for the cars.
"I'm gonna ride with Nick." Sarah said. "We'll be back by dinner."
"That's cool with us. We'll take your stuff home." Kristin said taking the bags.
"That's fine by me. The less I have to carry the better." Sarah said laughing.
The couples went their separate ways. Nick helped Sarah into the car. "So did you make a doctor's appointment?"
"Yeah. It's Friday morning at ten." Sarah said buckling in.
Nick closed the door and got in the driver's side. "Good. Then we'll see how our little bet plays out."
"I am so gonna win. I have mother instincts." Sarah said.
"We'll just see about that." he said.
Sarah just shook her head as he pulled out of the parking lot.
They arrived back at his place and Sarah grabbed her purse, and got out.
"Not yet. There's a surprise inside." Nick said.
"Okay. I'll walk slowly." Sarah said.
"Close your eyes. I'll guide you inside." he said.
She did as she was told. They went up the stairs and turned immediately right to the first room. She was getting anxious.
"Can I open them yet?" she asked excited.
"Not just yet." he said walking away from her and letting light into the room. "Okay. You can open them."
Sarah opened her eyes and gasped at what she saw. She saw a crib against the wall to the left of her, a rocking chair, and a stool in the corner to the right of her.
"Oh my gosh! It's so amazing." Sarah said. "I don't know what to say."
"When we know the sex of our little person, I'll add more stuff." Nick said.
"Thanks so much, Nick. I can't imagine anything more than what you've already done for me and our baby." Sarah said letting the tears fall.
"Anything for my baby's." he said kissing her.
Sarah kissed him back passionately and they headed to his room having some fun before they went back to Kevin and Kristin's.
