The crime of abduction of girls in Islamabad Federal
Capital area rose up to alarming height. 432 girls were abducted
in last five years whereas 310 cases were registered.

Abduction of Minority women
Sialkot:
Zonash (16) a Christian, daughter of Mustafa Ghori
was abducted by Khalid Mehmood a Muslim, when she was on her
way to school on October 3, 2006.On October 24,
2006 FIR was registered against the accused, his brother
Shams Mehmood and mother Khursheed. The accused had filled an
application for bail before arrest and also provided Muslim
marriage certificate dated 24-9-2006. The case is pending
with Sessions Court Sialkot. NCJP

Lahore:
• Noreen (14) daughter of Murid Masih of Liaqatabad
Lahore was abducted by Rizwan Shah, when she went to bazaar
for shopping. Police had registered a case against Rizwan on
the complaint of victim’s father.

Colony Chungh was abducted by Shakeel and an accomplice. Police
registered a case.

• Jaan Masih filed an application at
Lahore High Court that his wife Saima and daughter Mita were
abducted by Iqbal Mustafa and Rasheed and now in a Madrassa
(religious school of Muslims). When Saima was brought to the
court she stated that she and her husband had embraced Islam
together, but her husband had changed his mind later and tortured
her also that’s why she took shelter with her daughter
in the Madrassa. Her parents testified that their daughter had
embraced Islam with her free will, so the court dismissed the
case and permission was guaranteed to Saima to live in Madrassa
with her daughter. Daily

Deepa - Sindh
Deepa Bhesham Das (17) a Hindu, of Tharparkar was abducted
by his Muslim teacher Ashraf Khaskheli who is also a seminary
teacher at Madrassa Khanqah Gulzar-e-Khalil, Samaro town Tharparkar
on December 31, 2006.She left her house to have tution
but did not return, when her parents went to her teacher’s
place they were informed that her teacher taken her to the seminary
and married her after converting her to Islam. The owner of
the seminary said that he had converted her and then provided
a car to them for their journey.
Tharparkar district is electoral constituency of the present
Chief Minister – Sindh and the owner of the seminary is
an influential man. Victim’s parents and neighbours said
that they have not seen any sign of love affair between Deepa
and her teacher. The police refused to register the FIR and
the victim was not recovered till this report. Asian

Pooja – Karachi
Pooja (15) a Hindu, of Chakiwara, Lyari Town, was abducted
by two Muslim men Iqbal and Arshed with the help of Iqbal’s
sister on July 23, 2006. FIR was lodged on July 25,
2006 and she was found on the same day. Medical reports proved
that she was raped, but a certificate showing her conversion
to Islam issued by a seminary Darul Amjadia was produced and
accepted in the court. Victim was released, but was not allowed
to meet her family she was again abducted by the same persons
and was not recovered till this report. Asian

Komal – Karachi
Komal (16) a Hindu, of Hawks bay was abducted on August
2, 2006 and forcibly converted to Islam, police refused
to register the case. She was missing till this report.

Hudood Case
Azeem Masih registered a Hudood case in 2003 against
his wife that she had converted to Islam and married Tanveer
Ahmad who had also converted from a Hindu. When the couple was
arrested on May 30, 2006 they were unable to present
their marriage certificate (Nikkah Nama). They were sent to
Kohat jail along with their 10 months old son Abu Bakkar. Supreme
Court on July 17, 2006 approved their bail on personal guarantee
and instructed additional session judge Kohat to decide upon
the case within two months. Daily
