AHMADI ACCUSED
1- Muhammad Latif Butt – Rabwa
A case was registered against Mr. Muhammad Latif Butt under 298-C,
PPC and 16 Maintenance of Public Order Ordinance on January
8, 2006 at Rabwa, on the orders issued by the District Police
Officer, accusing Mr. Butt of preaching his faith. He lead prayers
in Rehman Colony mosque and was a Secretary of the local community.

2- Muhammad Tariq-Nawabshah
On October 31, 2006 Mr. Muhammad Tariq was traveling
on a bus, he was wearing a ring which is worn by Ahmadis traditionally.
He was identified as an Ahmadi when bus arrived at Tando Adam.
The bus driver and his staff took him to police station and accused
him of injuring their feelings by tearing off anti-Ahmadi stickers
pasted inside the bus. He was sent to jail under 295-A,
PPC and was in prison till this report. Ahmadi

3- Five Ahmadis – Sanghar
A case was registered against Mirza Masroor Ahmed, the
head of the Ahmadi Community and four press workers including
a woman on January 5, 2006 under 295-A, B, C
and 298 - C of PPC. The case was spontaneously registered
by the District Police Officer Sanghar.Cleric Ahmad Mian Hamadi,
the complainant was a convener of the Action Committee for the
Protection of the Finality of Prophet Hood Association (Majilis
Tahaffuz Khatm-e-Nabuwat).
The case was made against the Head of the Ahmadi community (now
residing in London) and Ms. Amat ur Rashid the Essay Writer, Mirza
Khalil Ahmad Qamar the Editor, Sheikh Khurshid Ahmad the Publisher,
Sultan Ahmed the Printer and all the staff of the monthly women’s
magazine Misbah. They were accused of publishing the following:
‘On page No. 1 and 3 Allah (God) and the Holy Prophet the
epithet of ‘Peace be upon him’ was alleged to be used
for Mirza Ghulam Ahmad. On page No. 2 verse 266 of the Surah Albaqrah
of the Quran and its translation, as also in bold letters a saying
of the Holy Prophet and its translation were printed. On page
1 and 3 the epithet Hazoor was used for Mirza Ghulam Ahmad. Mr.
Mansoor Ahmad was accused of using Quranic text and Islamic epithet
in his speech printed the magazine.’ Ahmadi

4- Agha Saifullah and Sultan Ahmad Doggar
- Rabwa
A case was registered against Agha Saifullah, publisher
and Sultan Ahmad Dogar, printer of Newspapers Al Fazal under 298
- B and C of PPC. On November 17, 2006 at police
station. They were alleged posing as Muslim and preaching their
religion.
Sultan Ahmad had also been implicated in another fabricated case
of similar kind and had not been allowed a release on bail.

5- Convicted - Jhang
Hafiz Dost Muhammad member of a religious organization
had alleged four Ahmadi men Haq Nawaz, Nazeer Ahmad, Zafar Ahmad
and Muhammad Sadeeq of writing Islamic proclamation of faith (Kalma
Tayyeba) at their place of worship and wishing peace in Islamic
way (Assalam-o-Alikum) to the Muslims. On October 12, 1998
a case was registered at Shorkot under 295-C
PPC which was latter on changed by the session court to 298-C,
PPC. The four accused were released on bail, however the case
was pending in the court. One of the accused Muhammad Sadeeq died
during the trail. On June 5, 2006 the three accused out
of four were sentenced two years imprisonment and five thousand
rupees fine each by the district court Jhang. One accused Ahmad
managed to leave country. Haq Nawaz and Nazeer Ahmad were arrested

6- Five Ahmadis – Mirpurkhas
Muhammad Ali, a Muslim filed a case against five Ahmadis
under 341/34, 298-C, PPC on June 23, 2006.
He alleged that the accused invited him and his friend to offer
Ahmadi prayers.Police arrested two accused named Molla Bux and
Muhammad Akbar out of five till this report. Ahmadi

7- Nine Ahmadis - Khairpur
A case was registered under Section 298-C,
PPC against 11 persons. Nine were Ahmadis on June 29, 2006
at Fiaz Ganj district Khairpur. The accused were trying to secure
a bail before arrest. Ahmadi Community
8- Ahmadis – Daska
On June 20, 2006 in a village Jhandoo Sahi 4
kilometers from Daska, district Sialkot, some Ahmadis were burning
rough papers, a person started shouting from the roof top that
they were burning the Holy Quran. A mob attacked on the Ahmadi’s
place of worship and demolished it. They also set shops, houses,
motorbikes and tractors belonging to Ahmadis on fire. Money and
ornaments were also stolen.
More than 10 Ahmadi families escaped from the scene to save their
lives. Police registered a case under section 295-B, PPC and arrested
four Ahmadis but they did not arrest any person for the attack
on Ahmadis. NCJP
