Hidayt Masih and wife

On May 26, 2006 a Christian family of Chakwal embraced Islam. Bushra Bibi, wife of Hidayt Masih wanted to marry another Christian man David Masih who had already converted to Islam in April 2006. He forced her to convert and marry him. She did so and left the house of her husband. She lived with David for a month without getting married. Bushra later met her husband and they reconciled. Hidayt with his two daughters embraced Islam and started living with her because it was difficult for Bushra to convert back due to the pressure of majority community who considered that converting from Islam to any other religion was apostasy punishable with death. Four brothers - Faisalabad

On April 11, 2006, a cleric Saeed-ul-Hassan Bukhari alleged four Christian brothers Akram Masih, Anwar Masih, Munawar Masih and Imran Masih of stealing ornaments from his house worth Rs. 248,900/-.

As a result the family went through tremendous suffering when all earning-hand members of the family were forced out of work. Their father was paralyzed nine years ago, the mother Nasreen Bibi started working as domestic helper. She borrowed money from a Muslim man Sabir Jutt and some neighbours.

In 2000 her husband passed away and all the lenders started demanding their money back. They offered her to embrace Islam to have the loan waived. At last she embraced Islam and married Sabir Jutt one of the lenders.

The neighbours kept on provoking her four sons to become Muslims so rest of the debt would also be waived. The four brothers sold their house, paid all the debt and then shifted to a near by area Murad Colony.

On the allegation of theft police arrested all of them. The police pressurized Imran to name of his companions. He named Baddar Munir and Ittafaq Umar to be involved to avoid torture. After the investigation, when all accused proved to be innocent, the police released them except Imran.

On April 14, 2006 when SHO (after investigation) told Hassan that Imran is not involved in the crime of theft. He registered another FIR against unknown persons.

On May 5, 2006 when they came to shift their luggage Hassan stopped them from doing so. The police arrested Anwar, Imran, Baddar and Ittafaq again. Despite that nothing was found against them in the investigation, they were sent to borstal Jail.

On May 24, 2006, Imran was released on bail, while the case against the four brothers lingered on. They have taken a refuge with their uncle.                                                               NCJP Report
