| Amalfi, with its prime location on the coast of Italy, was once one of the great independant maritime republics. This was pointed out to us by my cousin's cousin when we were taken to this beautiful resort on the Amalfi coast. The "Duomo" was founded in the 10th century and combines many blends of architectural styles. We happened upon a wedding, with beautiful music and flowers during our visit. |

| The town of San Arsenio is nestled at the bottom of a mountain range just south of Salerno. Its "Chiesa Madre had been "remodeled", but this was another church, which still held its original simple charm. |
