| "What were you guys doing," Brian asked with a confused look. "We were just talking," Nick said to Brian, looking down at the sand. "Oh. Aimee, do you think I could talk to you alone for just a minute," Brian asked her. "Um.. sure," she said, then walked over to Brian. Her and Brian walked along the beach in silence for about 5 minutes, until Brian spoke up. "Well, I just want to tell you something," Brian told her. "Okay," Aimee told him. "Well, ever since we broke up I never, well... stopped.. loving you. I was just thinking that maybe we could try to get back together. Maybe work things out," Brian asked her, looking into her eyes. "What? No, Brian. I can't do that. I thought you loved Leigh Anne," Aimee questioned him. "I keep telling myself that I do, but deep down, I know that I don't. I want to be with you," Brian said, holding her hand. She looked down at their hands together. She remembered when they were together. It was the best time of her life. Maybe she could try after all. But then she thought about Nick. She didn't know what was going on in her head. She was confused about the whole situation. Just one day, she saw Brian again, and then in 3 days he says that he loves her and wants to be with her again. But then she also started to fall for Nick just after she was with him for one night. She was stuck in between two great guys, who were best friends. Finally, she started to speak to Brian. "But you cheated on me," Aimee blurted out. "No, I didn't. If you knew what I knew, you would never think the things you do. If only I could tell you the truth," Brian told her. "It's too late for that, though," Aimee told him. He looked at her with disbelief. He let go of her hand and kicked the white sand with his foot. His crystal blue eyes looked up into hers, and she saw the sadness in them. She couldn't even look him in the eye. "Oh, I understand. But can I do something really quick," Brian asked. Aimee nodded. Brian leaned in, put his lips softly on hers, and then pulled away. Aimee just looked at him with a strange look. "That was nice," Brian said, looking in her eyes. Aimee didn't know what to say to him. She turned and started to walk away from him. "Where are you going," Brian asked, running over to her. "I don't know. I just need to get away from her or something," Aimee told him. "Why? Didn't you feel anything," Brian asked her. "I don't know how I feel anymore," Aimee said, then ran to her car and sped away. Brian walked away, and then walked sadly away to where Nick was standing. "What happened, Brian," Nick asked him. "I don't want to talk about it, Nick. I will see you tomorrow," Brian said, then walked to his car. Nick noticed that Brian was upset. But when he saw Brian kiss Aimee, he felt something strange. He felt jealous. He didn't know why. He didn't like the sight of Brian kissing her. He shook his head, walked to his car, and drove back to his house to think about everything. ******************************************************************************************** Christa brought Aimee a Coke and sat down on the couch next to her. Aimee sat on the couch in silence, for the longest time. She didn't want to talk about what happened on the beach, but she knew eventually she would have to tell Christa. "Are you going to tell me what happened? Please," Christa begged her. "Fine. I will tell you. When I went to the beach, I was going to meet Nick. We almost kissed, but then I heard Brian calling me. He told me that he loved me still. Then he kissed me. It's like I'm stuck in between them," Aimee explained to her. "Wow. I want two guys that like me," Christa said with a laugh. Aimee didn't say anything. She looked away and went to the deck of her apartment. Christa quickly got up and followed her. "Sorry. I'm just trying to lighten things up a little," She told her. "It's okay. I don't even know why I am acting like this," Aimee explained to her. "I think you feel this way because you care about both of them, and that's bothering you," Christa told her. "Maybe," Aimee said, then looked out at the beach. Just then, someone knocked on the door. Aimee didn't move from the balcony, so Christa went to the door and answered it. She was surprised, when she opened the door. Nick was standing in the doorway with his hands shoved in his pockets. "Hey, Christa. Is Aimee here," Nick asked her. "Yeah, she's out on the balcony. I don't know if she wants to talk, though," Christa said. "Do you think I could please talk to her? It won't be long," Nick said. "Okay," Christa said, then let Nick into the house. He went through the house and found the door to the balcony. He slowly opened the door and stepped out. He found Aimee looking out into the ocean. She didn't turn around, when he was on the balcony. He tapped her shoulder lightly, and she turned around quickly. "Hi, Nick," she sighed. "Hey. Why did you run off the beach so fast," Nick asked. "I don't want to talk about it," she said, then turned away. "Brian was really upset that you left, and I was, too," Nick said, leaning on the railing. "Why were you upset," Aimee asked, looking towards him. "We didn't get to finish what we were doing," Nick told her. "Really? And what was that," Aimee asked. "This," Nick said, then gently kissed her. |
