"So how does this look," Aimee asked Christa.
"It looks great. Now lets get going. We are going to be late," Christa said, then pulled Aimee out to the car.
They left Aimee's apartment and drove to Nick's house. They got lost a couple of times because Christa didn't know where she was going. Finally, they reached the house and pulled up into the driveway.
"587 Marathon Ct. This is it," Aimee said, getting out of the car.
They both went to the front and knocked on the door, but no one answered. Finally, they heard someone walk up behind them.
"Hey! Glad you could make it. Come around the back way. No one is inside the house," Brian said, gesturing to the backyard.
Both the girls went in front of him and into the backyard. They stopped, and Brian stood by Aimee.
"So... who are all these people," Aimee asked him.
"Oh. Let me get them. AJ, Kevin, Howie, Nick get over here," Brian shouted.
She saw 3 young men walking towards her, and then they stopped.
     "Where is Nick," Brian asked.
"He's in the pool. He doesn't want to get out. He said that he would meet her later," AJ said.
     "Hi guys," she said sweetly.
     "Hi," they all said cheerfully.
She shook all of their hands, and they chatted for a bit. Then, they went their separate ways.
"Wow! They are so cute," Christa said in an excited voice.
"I guess," Aimee said, then sat down at the table.
She sat there most of the time just talking to Christa. Brian came over once in a while. She got up, walked to the pool, and stuck her feet in. She heard Christa giggling about something. She looked behind her and saw that she was talking to Brian. She turned back around and looked into the pool. All of a sudden, she felt 2 hands push on her back, and she went toppling into the pool. She hit the blue water, and she turned around to get back to the surface. She rose to the surface and choked up the water. Her brown hair was plastered to her face. She wiped it away and looked up at everyone.
"Oh my gosh! I didn't mean to push you in. I was just trying to get your attention," Brian said to her.
She looked up at him and sighed. She pulled her hair back and went to the side of the pool.
"I did it, too. Don't let Brian take all the blame," Christa said.
"Is anyone going to help the lady out," Nick asked.
He walked over to her and stuck his hand out. When she got his hand, she yanked it, and he went flying into the pool, also. She laughed and climbed out of the pool. Everybody watched while Nick rose to the surface. He spit out water and glared at Aimee.
"What the heck was that for," Nick asked with an angry tone.
"I needed to get my frustrations out," Aimee said with a laugh.
"It's not funny! That's the last time I will try to help you out," Nick said, climbing out of the pool.
"I'm so heartbroken," Aimee said with a sarcastic tone.
"What's wrong with you?! Someone has an attitude problem," Nick said, drying himself off.
"I do not! What is your problem," Aimee said, going over to him.
"Hey guys, chill out! Cool off. This is nothing to get upset about," Kevin said, jumping in between them.
"Let's go, Christa, " Aimee said, grabbing her bag and heading to the car.
Brian ran after her and stopped her. She turned around and looked at him.
"Why did you act like that," Brian asked.
"I don't know. I'm just frustrated," Aimee said.
"About what? Well, do you think you could apologize to him because he will hold a grudge against you," Brian explained to her.
"Fine. Sorry I acted like that, Brian. I have no idea what is wrong with me. I just don't feel like myself," Aimee told him, leaning against the car.
"Is it because of me? If it is, then I won't call anymore or nothing. I just thought seeing each other again would be fun, you know? So we can be friends," Brian said.
"I know, Brian. It's just like I saw you yesterday and boom! You just want to be the best of friends. But I don't know about that," Aimee told him.
"I know. I'm sorry. But can you apologize to him," Brian asked with pleading eyes.
"Yeah. I guess I will see you," Aimee said, then got into the car.
Christa started the engine, and the car sped away, leaving Brian in the driveway alone. He watched them drive away, then sighed. He walked back to the backyard and saw Nick sitting at the table with a pouty look.
"Nick, stop acting like a kid," Brian said, sitting down next to him.
"She didn't have to pull me into the pool. I don't know why you love her so much," Nick blurted out.
Brian looked at him with a surprised look. Nick looked away and rubbed his neck. He always rubbed his neck, when he got nervous.
"You don't even know her, Nick. She was having a bad day. You just have to get to know her, and you would fall in love with her instantly," Brian said.
"Fall in love with who, Bri," Leigh Anne asked, walking up behind him.
"Oh. You, Leigh," Brian said to her.
"Sorry I got here late. I was stuck in traffic," Leigh Anne said, then put her arms around him.
"That's okay," Brian said to her.
Nick sighed, got up from the table, and walked back to his room. The party was over for him.
