Biography

Marotta is known for being a slow starter and an late fader, with his best offensive days encompassing the middle of the season. Capable switch hitter, with power from the right and contact from the left hand side. Marotta prides himself on being a pesky leadoff hitter who tries to disrupt the starting pitcher, and relies on gold glove defense to keep himself from crying to sleep during his off days on the season. When Marotta is locked in however, which usually occurs if he is within ear-shot of a Bruce Springsteen song and with his V-Hat on backwards, he can be among the most damaging bats in the lineup. Also known to come in and serve up batting practice as the definition of a mop-up pitcher.
