Water Sports


Snorkling / Scuba Diving The house is ideally situated for diving and snorkling in the waters of the Atlantic or Gulf.  Nearby in the Atlantic is Looe Key National Marine Sanctuary. Here you will find some of the most breathtaking underwater scenery that the U.S. has to offer. In addition to Looe Key, you'll find Adolphus Busch Wreck, American Shoals, and the local surrounding waters abounding with beautiful areas to snorkel and dive.  Cudjoe Marina and Dive Center at the end of our canal is very convenient for all your boating and diving needs. Underseas Divers, on Big Pine Key is our favorite dive shop which features dive trips (about 15minutes back up the Keys).  Looe Key Reef Resort and Dive Center (about 7 minutes back up the Keys) is also a full service dive facility. Key West offers lots of others like Reef Raiders, Seabreeze, Southpoint Divers,  Subtropic Dive Center and Dive Key West
    

Fishing
The fishing is great!! You have your choice of fishing in the canal, off nearby bridges, in the Atlantic or in the back country.   If you bring your own boat ask me where to find what you are looking for.
Lobster  
Some of the Keys' best lobstering waters are located in the shallow waters near Sawyer and Content Keys in the Gulf.  But you can also find plenty of great lobster spots very close to home.   See our marked chart for "secret spots" almost sure to help you catch dinner. 

Sunbathing
For the serious sunbather, the concrete dock behind the house offers a fairly private place to sunbathe. For the beach lover,Bahia Honda State Park (MM 37) is reported to be one of the best 10 beaches in the U.S.
Boating/Jet Skis/ Kayaks Enjoy the Keys from the water. Cudjoe Marina and Dive Shop, a few blocks from the house, has an excellent boat ramp and can meet many of your boating needs. It is just a few blocks down our canal. Numerous other nearby places exist where you can rent boats or Jet Skis.
Kayaks (rent or bring your own)
We live in a wonderful area of rivers and mangroves for you to explore.  There are many safe places to launch and spend the day at no cost. Great fishing is within easy reach. There are also chartered Kayak Ecko Tours.
