• Perform basic keyboarding applications
• Demonstrate proper use of the keyboard by touch
• Identify and use the operation/function and numeric keys on a computer keyboard

Students in both classes will be expected to type at a minimum speed of 20 net words per minute on straight copy at Christmas, and 35 net words per minute at the end of the year. Keyboarding will be our focus for the remainder of the first semester.

Students in both classes will learn basic formatting commands of word processing. Projects will include formatting reports in MLA style and formatting business letters.
