Sunrise
The horrific and tragic events of 911 have forever changed the world. Our nation as a whole has begun to take significant and necessary steps to deal with those events. I wonder if we as individuals have taken action in the same proportion? It is one thing to be united and concerned, but it's another thing to turn those concerns into individual action.  Are we capable as individuals? Nelson Mandela has said:

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyound measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightening about shrinking so that other people won't feel unsure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone! As we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give others permision to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fears, our presence automatically liberates others".

Sunset
Are we as individuals at the Sunrise or Sunset of our lives,or are we somewhere in between - just marking time? Is this the time in our lives that we need to make positive changes and improvements?  But hear this, if you want to make a change, you must make an effort to change; otherwise nothing will change!

Another wise man from the past said,
"Of all sad words of mice and men, the saddest of these are, it might have been".
