13. Brian Long 2001-2003

Brian entered the pantheon of Navvy greats with his goalkeeping heroics during the testing 2001 season. The injury to the Navvies' incumbent keeper saw a number of options tested before Brian was persuaded to offer his servces. Often playing behind an inexperienced and unfit team, Brian kept scorelines down to a respectable level, performing above and beyond the standard of his peers. Finally hanging up his gloves in 2003, he is regarded as a major influence in the genesis of the modern Navvy organisation with his impeccable conduct on and off the field.
