If you have been to the “Hell Fire” link, you have discovered what hell is, or at least you have an idea. Heaven, on the other hand, is a place quite the opposite. Heaven is where the Author of all life is, the Creator of all things.
the Bible tells us in Genesis that the world was created in 7 days. Whether that was 7 of our days, or 7 of God’s days, is unclear. But in John 14:1-4, Jesus says,
“Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions, if it were not so I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you with me that you may also be where I am. You know the way to the place I am going.”(NIV)
That was almost 2 thousand years ago. If the Lord created the earth in 7 days, how beautiful must this place, heaven, be? Before man’s greed turned the earth into the polluted planet it is now, it was a veritable paradise. Imagine, if you will, what awaits the children of the Most High God in the heaven He has prepared for us! Hallelujah!
Further on in this particular scripture (John 14), the desciple Thomas asked the Lord Jesus how he could possibly know where Jesus was going, and how to get there.
Jesus answered him;
“I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life! No-one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6(NIV)
Heaven is where my Lord and Saviour awaits me...and that is where I want to be!
