You have heard it said that if you do not have the LORD JESUS CHRIST as your savior, that you will be hellbound...guess what? It is true. I am not about to candy-coat this issue. I will not be responsible for watering down the gospel of Jesus.
JESUS SAID:
I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No man cometh unto the Father, but by Me.
John 14:6-7 (NIV)

No one knows for sure what hell is, other than the fact that it is a place where God does not exist. The Bible describes it as a place of eternal torment, "where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth". I have heard so many people say, "That's okay. When I get there I will be so darned busy partying with all my friends..."

GUESS AGAIN!

There will be no partying in the pit of hell. If the presence of the Lord is not there, there will be nothing to party about. Here is a thought for you...You see a solid object, an oak table perhaps, and it appears to be solid, yet it is not. It is really billions of molecules held together...by what? THE POWER OF GOD! Now, you know what happens when man split the atom, right? A nuclear explosion. What do you suppose would happen if the presence of God Himself was removed from the earth? Right...total chaos! That is what hell will be.
So, as you can see from the scripture above (John 14:6-7), it is not enough to be "a good person". Even doing good works "in the name of Jesus" will not get you into heaven. You MUST be born again! You must have Jesus as your Lord and Savior!
The scripture says; "I tell you the truth, no-one can enter the kingdom of God, unless he is born of water and the Spirit!-John 3:5 (NIV)
What does this mean, to be born again? Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit." -John 3:5-6 (Niv)
It may sound difficult, but it is really quite simple. To be born again, you need only ask Jesus to forgive you for your sins, then ask Him to come into your heart, and be the Lord of your life.
You may be thinking to yourself,"But I am not really a bad person. Why should I ask forgiveness?" Answer: Romans 3:23 (NIV)-For all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God.
BUT...when you decide to ask Christ into your heart...this scripture in it's entirety is a beautiful thing to behold!
Here it is: Romans 3:22-25 (NIV)-This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, for all have sinned, and fall short of the Glory of God, and are justified freely by His grace through the redemption which came by Christ Jesus. God presented Him as a sacrifice of atonement (payment for our sins) through faith in His blood.

HOW MAY I BE BORN AGAIN?
Open your heart to the Lord, honestly. Do you really want to know Him? if so, all you need to do is say this simple prayer: 

Lord Jesus, 
I ask you to forgive me for my sins.
I believe you are the Son of God.
I believe you died on the cross
as payment for my sins.
I believe you were resurrected to life 
on the third day, taking the power of death
from satan, and defeating him.
Come now, into my heart Lord Jesus,
and be the Lord of my life.
I thank you, and I praise you!
AMEN!
