ACCESS TO NEPAL BY AIR:

Royal Nepal Airlines (the National Flag Carrier) operates flights from / to Bangkok, Hong Kong, Dubai, Calcutta, Delhi, Kwala Lumpur (Malaysia), Frankfurt, Mumbai, Osaka, Paris, Vienna, Amsterdam, London, Lhasa, Shanghai and Singapore.

Other Airlines such as: Aeroflot, Martin Air, Druk Air (Bhutan), Biman (Bangladesh), PIA (Pakistan), China South West, Indian Airlines, Transavia (Dutch), Austrian Airlines, Condor (Germany), Gulf Air, Qatar Airways, Thai International etc. are International operators.

ACCESS TO NEPAL BY SURFACE:

From India: There are 6 entry / exit points in Nepal:  Kakarbhitta, Birgunj, Belhiya (Bhairahawa), Nepalgunj, Dhanghadi and Mahendranagar.
From Tibet (China) : Kodari is the only entry / exit point into Nepal, while other points like Yari (for Mt. Kailash from Humla ) is a special entry / exit point.

VISA & IMMIGRATION FORMALITIES:

For Other Nationals:

A VISA is required to enter Nepal. Visa can be obtained in Royal Nepalese Embassy or Consulates. ( for detail Address please contact us) or at the Tribhuvan International Airport (Kathmandu) upon Arrival. 2 Passport size photos are necessary.

The Visa Fees are as follows:

1. Single Entry visa for 60 Days : U.S. $ 30.
2. Additional Re-Entry Cost : U.S. $ 25 - Single ; U.S. $ 40 - Double & U.S. $ 60 for Multiple Visa.
3. Visitors who intend to re-enter the country within 150 days after leaving the country during the same visa year, entry fee is US $ 50 for 30 Days.
4. Visitors intending to stay more than 60 Days, tourist visa extension fee is equivalent of US $ 50  for 30 days from the Department of Immigration.
5. Multi Entry Business Visa can be obtained by the Department of Immigration on the recommendation of the Ministry of Industry for Businessmen (For Details: please contact us)

However, for Indian Nationals: No visa is required, however a proof of Indian Citizenship should be presented at the Airport or when required.

CUSTOM FORMALITIES:

All Baggage must be declared and cleared through the customs on arrival at the entry. Personal effects are permitted duty free entry. Visitors may bring dutiable goods, such as tobacco and liquors, within the prescribed quantity (200 rolls cigarettes and 1 liter) duty free. Visitors can purchase souvenirs and take home, but some antiques are prohibited and some antiques need a permit from the Department of Archaeology.

AIRPORT TAX :

The Domestic Airport Tax for all air travelers (including Nepalese) is Rs. 110, paid at the airport before boarding the plane.
The International Airport Tax, for departing to SAARC (South Asian Countries) is Rs. 660 and for other destinations: Rs. 1100 , should be paid  at the airport before boarding the plane.
