9. OLOF (JOE) EMANUEL5 BERGLUND (MAGNUS JONSSON4, JONS3 NILSSON, NILS2 MATTSSON, MATTHES1 JONSSON) was born September 17, 1878 in Indalslidens, Vasternorrland, Sweden, and died July 06, 1964 in Minnesota. He married FREDA CHRISTINA HAGBERG September 17, 1914 in Virginia, St. Louis County, Minnesota by Pastor John B. A. Idstrom, Swedish Luther Church Pastor from Hibbing, MN, daughter of JOHN HAGBERG and KJERSTIN OLSDOTTER. She was born March 10, 1889 in Grasmark, Varmland, Sweden, and died December 16, 1960 in Minnesota.

According to the 1910 census, Joe came into the United States in 1900. What he did in the vicinity of Winnepeg from January 1892 to 1900 is not known. He told his son Dale he worked in the lumber business in the Red Lake areas of Northern Minnesota and worked for a period of time in the lumber mill in Hackensack, Cass, Minnesota before going to Virginia, St. Louis, Minnesota.

Joe was a track foreman and had charge of all railroad equipment for the Virginia and Rainy Lake Lumber Company until the mill closed in 1929. He later worked for the WPA and City of Virginia. In about 1942 he went to Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada and worked on the Yukon Highway for a couple of years before going back to work for the City of Virginia until 1960.
After his wife died in 1960 he sold his home and lived with with his son, Dale, in Minneapolis and his daughter, Doris, in Moorhead.

He was born September 27, 1872 in Varmland, Sweden, and died September 08, 1951 in Bemidji, Beltrami County, Minnesota.

She met and married Howard Pebley. They adopted a boy named Dale who was born June 26 1908 and died February 1, 1913 and is buried at Nymore, Beltrami County, Minnesota. Amanda and Howard divorced and Amanda moved to Bemidji, Minnesota. The 1910 census shows Amanda by herself in Denver. She is shown as being married. There is no other Pebley in the Colorado census index.

She married CHARLES ARNOLD April 01, 1904 in Bemidji, Beltrami County, Minnesota, son of GEORGE ARNOLD and KATHARINE HILDERMAN. He was born August 19, 1877 in Lockport, Niagara County, New York, and died January 13, 1962 in Vancouver, Clark County, Washington.

Charley abandoned his wife and four children about 1921 or 1922. Later he returned to Bemidji, got custody of the children and on June 19, 1927, took the children to Ray, North Dakota. Shortly thereafter the family reunited.
In June 1929, Charley moved the family to Minot, North Dakota. He again left the family in 1930 or 1931 and returned to Ray, North Dakota until 1934 when he went to the State of Washington.
After Charley's final abandonment, Myrtle did not have any easy life trying to raise and support four children. From 1934 to June 1940, she worked as a cook, chamber maid, managed a school lunch program and held other miscellaneous jobs.
She moved to Salem, Oregon in 1941 to join son, George and live with him until he entered the military service in February 1943. She then went to work in the ship yards in Portland, Oregon until shortly after World War II. She then went to work as Floor Supervisor (housekeeper) for the United States National Bank if downtown Portland, Oregon. She retired in 1963 or 1964.
