1.  JONS3 NILSSON  (NILS2 MATTSSON, MATTHES1 JONSSON) was born July 09, 1815 in Kaketorp, Grasmark, Varmland, Sweden, and died June 18, 1889 in Grasmark, Varmland, Sweden.  He married CAJSA JANSDOTTER Bet. 1833 - 1834, daughter of UNKNOWN and KJERSTIN PERSDOTTER.  She was born July 28, 1812 in Holmarna, Grasmark, Varmland, Sweden, and died May 25, 1895 in Grasmarksgard, Grasmark, Varmland, Sweden.

Notes for CAJSA JANSDOTTER:
Illegitimate daughter of Kjerstin Persdotter. The birth records Cajsa Jonsdotter stated the father was Jan Nilsson and that he was from Dalen. Jan was present at Cajsa's emergency baptism on July 30, 1812.

3. iv. MAGNUS JONSSON BERGLUND, b. June 07, 1842, Holmarna, Grasmark, Varmland, Sweden; d. January 13, 1921, Bemidji, Beltrami County, Minnesota.
v. NILS JONSSON, b. November 08, 1844, Holmarna, Grasmark, Varmland, Sweden; d. November 02, 1851, Grasmark, Varmland, Sweden.
vi. MARIA BERGLUND, b. September 12, 1848, Holmarna, Grasmark, Varmland, Sweden. Maria came to the United States alone destined for Chicago, Illinois. No trace of her was found in Chicago. Relatives report that she died in the Great Chicago Fire.

2.  KAJSA4 JONSDOTTER (JONS3 NILSSON, NILS2 MATTSSON, MATTHES1 JONSSON)
was born November 29, 1836 in Holmarna, Grasmark, Varmland, Sweden, and died March 11, 1923 in Rochester, Minnesota.  She married JAN ANDERSSON May 04, 1867 in Josse, Grasmark, Varmland, Sweden, son of ANDERS ANDERSSON and KARIN JANSDOTTER.  He was born June 16, 1833 in Heljeboda, Eda, Varmland, Sweden.

Notes for KAJSA JONSDOTTER:
The 1900 Census for the Swan Pearsson family showed that his mother-in-law, Carrie Johnson, was living with them. It is believed that this Carrie was Kajsa because the birth date and year of arrival in the United States coincided with other records.


Death certificate #9901 for the State of Minnesota is for Kari Anderson who resided at the Almshouse, Goodhue, Minnesota, Age 86, daughter of Jens Nelson. Admitted to the Rochester State Hospital, Rochester, Minnesota on February 15, 1923 and died March 11, 1923. The cause of death was set out as senility with unknown chronic disease which she had about three years. Dr. Olive G. Spaulding signed as the attending physician and was also listed as the informant. Buried at Rochester State Hospital Cemetery with no stone as is the custom at that cemetery. The Minnesota Historical Society, custodian of the Rochester State Hospital records, produced Statistical records, page 256, Case #14977 which showed that Kari Anderson was a resident of Goodhue County, Minnesota, and was accompanied to the hospital by John A. Anderson and Mrs. Jeanette Norby and that Mr. John Berglund of Weaver, Minnesota, was the correspondent or relative. (John Berglund was the son of Kari Anderson).

Jan and Kajsa had four children, all born in Varmland, Sweden.

iv. EMMA JANSDOTTER, b. September 27, 1878, Grasmarksgard, Grasmark, Varmland, Sweden; d. September 19, 1879, Grasmark, Varmland, Sweden.
3.  MAGNUS JONSSON4 BERGLUND (JONS3 NILSSON, NILS2 MATTSSON, MATTHES1 JONSSON) was born June 07, 1842 in Holmarna, Grasmark, Varmland, Sweden, and died January 13, 1921 in Bemidji, Beltrami County, Minnesota.  He married ANDREA ANDERSDOTTER January 05, 1868 in Indalslidens, Vasternorrland, Sweden, daughter of T. OLOFSSON and ANNA RINGQVIST.  She was born January 13, 1848 in Asen, Indalslidens , Vasternorrland, Sweden, and died May 07, 1933 in Bemidji, Beltrami County, Minnesota.

Notes for MAGNUS JONSSON BERGLUND:
Magnus worked as a farm hand, "drang", in Varmland. He went to Liden, Vasternorrland in 1867 to work in the forestry industry as a log boomer.

Magnus and Andrea had ten children born in Sweden between 1868 and 1888. Six of the children died and were buried in Sweden.

IMMIGRATION:  Magnus, Andrea, Emma, Olof, Amanda, and Anna departed Gothenberg (Gotenborg), Sweden for Hull, England on the ship Ariosto on November 27, 1891 under passenger number 787. The destination was recorded as Winnipeg, Canada. After arriving in England they boarded the ship S. S. Lord Clive and sailed from Liverpool, England to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, arriving on December 15 or 16, 1891. Olof was placed under quarantine for possibly typhoid fever. Emma stayed behind with him and the rest of the family went by train to Winnipeg. Emma and Joe joined the family in Winnipeg and the family remained there until about 1899 when they moved to Little Falls, Morrison County, Minnesota. Sometime between 1900 and 1910, Magnus, Andrea, Amanda, and Anna went to Fruithurst, Alabama. Magnus became involved in a land deal that would give him farm land to own and operated but this did not work out financially. Magnus, Andrea, and Anna returned to Minnesota prior to 1910. Magnus and Andrea lived in the Bemidji, Minnesota area and lived in a log cabin along the Mississippi River and farmed. Magnus and Andrea are recorded in 1910 census in Frohn Twp, Beltrami County, Minnesota.

He married CHARLOTTE SWANSON January 31, 1891 in Ludington, Mason County, Michigan, daughter of SVEN ANDERSSON and CHRISTINA SVENSDOTTER.  She was born February 14, 1866 in Lindhult, Hinneryd, Kronoberg, Sweden, and died May 04, 1943 in Tustin, Osceola County, Michigan.
